Heart Great deal for a charity... Have you seen?

At Squigglefly.com Digital Stamps - Digital Stamp Downloads for Stamping, Scrapbooking, and More! they are giving all of their proceeds from the sale of their cat digital stamps in Febuary to help Lucky The Cat. Today is the last day! I think that is so generous of their designers!!! You can read all about Lucky here:

I'm all in favor of donating to worthy causes and charities, and I don't fault the company for doing so.

In this particular case I feel the need to express my feelings, after reading the entire story about Lucky the cat.

This is only my personal opinion, and not an attack on anyone who feels differently. I am an animal lover, and have had cats and dogs all my life. I think pets add greatly to our quality of life and deserve care and respect.

That said, when I read that the cost of the proposed surgery for this cat will be around $3,000, with no guarantee of a successful outcome for the kitty, I was taken aback.

I truly feel that amount of money could be better used to help a child who is ill.

I give to those kinds of charities when I am able also. I just thought it was a win/win; especially for those that buy digital stamps anyway. I believe in helping animals (domesticated) and children, as they depend completely on others for their survival. I do put people first, but they are both close to my heart!
I do think they should weigh carefully how much they will be putting the cat through. If it is a case where the cat may suffer alot needlessly, then euthanasia is better in my opinion, but if the cat has a good prognosis, then I believe they should go ahead with the surgery.
I think you should just do what your heart tells you to do. I always think about things like this before giving also, as I only have a few dollars I could give. It sickens me the number of animals put to sleep on a daily basis, and I wish I could help all of them, and I think of how far that money could go to help many animals. But, this was the opportunity I was given (to give and share), and I chose to just pass on the word, and let people decide for themselves.
I don't feel badly about sharing it, as I know there are others who feel the same and a little does add up. Anyway, I hope it didn't bother you, as that wasn't my intent in posting. The offer from Sqigglefly would be over by now anyway, so it would be strictly a donation situation. Thanks for sharing your opinion; I didn't take it personal.

Here is a link to Lucky's story, that includes the vet's office who has her. I do not know any of these people personally or the establishment, so you'll have to use your own judgement on that.
Dr. Andy Mathis- The Animals and Other Stuff: Lucky Update
Praying it all works out for her! Evidently, they have a fund to help people with the expense of getting care for thier animals if they qualify. I've never heard of anything like that in our area. According to their blog, Lucky, however, was given to the vet's office, so they will find her a good home if all goes well with her surgery.
