Default Glitter and glue with stamps?

Ok-

So I know I can EMBOSS and image to make it shiny, but I was wondering if there is a way to use glitter and glue with your stamps. For example, I have a spider web stamp that I want to use silver glitter with and a pumpkin stamp with orange glitter. I know there is talk about the glue pads, but are they necessary and is there another way to do this? I have modge podge, MS glue and glitter, elmers and a ton of different scrapbook glues, so is there a way to use these instead of buying a glue pad? I also thought embossing ink, but I assume that's not a glue, so the glitter won't hold..thanks!

I also thought, well with the foam stamps, you could just paint on glue like you would with paint and then sprinkle the glitter, but the rubber stamps and acrylic have me perplexed and I don't want to ruin them.

Art Institute makes a super fine tip for use with their glues (TAC sells it) and I use it to outline the images- and then I put glitter on them. It's seriously pencil fine- works GREAT.

Hmmm...I wouldn't put glue on my rubber if it weren't formulated specifically for that purpose.

SU! has a product called Heat 'n Stick that is great for adhering glitter and flock. You stamp with Versamark, sprinkle it on and then heat it until it just turns shiny (don't overheat!) Then you sprinkle on your glitter and it sticks! The final step is to heat again to set the glitter and it's done.

I stamp my images with regular ink. Let dry. I then go over the lines I want to glitter with ZIG Memory System, 2 way glue. It is a liquid glue that comes out blue. Then I sprinkle on the glitter. If it is a larger area that I want to gillter, I do a little bit at a time. This is how I glittered the trees on this Christmas card.

You can use a glue pad and ultra fine glitter or use glitter embossing powder.
You can also mix glitter into your regular embossing powder.

Option #1:
Tsukineko makes a glue pad for rubber stamps called the Essential Glue Pad... you use this to stamp your image and then you can apply glitter to the stamped image and let dry...

Option #2:
Sakura's Gelly Roll Product Line makes a great clear glittery pen you can use for fine lines to put a gold glitterish elegant finish on your stamped images... it's really nice...

Option #3:
Sakura makes a great fine line pen called Quickie Glue to help you get a very fine line of glue for glitter on your stamped images...

Now you can get your stamped images/ handwriting in glitter without the mess or fuss!

You could also outline with Stickles. Love that stuff and it's so easy to use with the fine tip!

I have made cards using glitter and glue, but not the way you are describing. Here are some I've made -- LSC84 Fall Fantasy by Clownmom at Splitcoaststampers and SC83 Circle Santa by Clownmom at Splitcoaststampers -- using that technique. I just bought a couple of stamps that look like stained glass that I want to try.

In the newest PaperCrafts issue they have a quick thing on this. You can stamp your image, they used a small, solid pumpikin, in any ink. They used a regular black. Then (I'd use a Stamp A Ma Jig) they stamped directly over it with the Essential Glue Pad. They sprinkled glitter on that! Viola! It was awesome. I have the EGP so I'm going to try it today!
