Default Girl Scout Troup Leader Gifts

Hi ladies! My daughter's Daisy move-up ceremony is June 2nd and I was wondering how people usually thank the Troup leaders. I was thinking something sweet and simple would be appropriate. Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas?

Hi,

What about a decorated clipboard? My daughter's troop leader always has her forms on a clipboard.

Default Gifts for Troop Leaders

My daughter has been in girl scouts since Daisies and just bridged from Cadette's to Seniors this year. Some popular handmade gifts over the years have been an altered clipboard, a tile coaster, and a post-it note holder. If the leader is moving up to Brownies with the troop, K & Co. has some lovely girl scout themed patterned paper that can be decopaged onto a clip board.

Also, I don't know if you have the time to organize something like this, but something that would be very much appreciated is a gift certificate/card from your local girl scout shop--this would be a great thing for all the girls/families wanting to give her a gift to contribute a little bit. She could use it to buy a new leader shirt/uniform for when she moves up to Brownie leader. You could make a card/giftcard holder for all the girls to sign.

Hope this is helpful.

You could always decorate a notebook....like one of those composition notebooks or even a regular one...cover with designer paper and embellish. You could include an RSVP pen where you unscrew the barrel and insert a rolled up piece of designer paper to decorate. I do like the clipboard idea, too. OR...what about a picture frame....either you can buy a cheap plain wood one at the craft store and cover with designer paper and embellish or make sort of a scrapbook page, especially if you have a photo of the girls and put it in a frame. Have fun! Enjoy these days while your kids are little!

We had six leaders this year and although no one else ever does anything, I just couldn't not do something. I wish I could have done more, but six leaders is hard on the budget. I ended up baking them something sweet. Here's the details if you want to look.

For our Scout leader this year (with a den of 12 third-grade boys!), I put together a "survival kit". It contained a relaxation CD, two small candles, Calgon, ear plugs, Excedrin Migraine, two Diet Cokes (her fav), Roche candies, and now I can't remember the last few things (sorry!). I was able to do the whole thing for under $15. Got most of the supplies at Walmart. For Cub/Boy Scouts, the Scout Store also offers different scout-theme shaped cookie cutters, which could be cute with a cookie mix.

I made ours clipboards and they loved them. I still see them carrying them around over a year later. Here's a link: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...&ppuser=127299

My husband is a Cub Scout leader and let me say he would be happy with anything, a nice card would do wonders! I do not think anyone realizes how much time these volunteers spend getting ready for their weekly activities. So anything to show appreciation would be appreciated!

I made a clipboard for my cub scout's leader. She LOVED it and even posted a picture of it on her facebook page!!!!

I also think note cards are always appropriate.

Do a search for SCOUT in the gallery, lots of ideas - I ALWAYS make my girls leaders cards (with LOTS of help from my own 2 Girl Scouts) - this year I tried to get a collection for our leader who is leaving (I'm taking over) - but NO ONE sent any money in for a gift for her! My daughter picked out a nice candle for her and made her a heartfelt card - she was touched.

I am a beaver scout assistant leader and there is such a lot of work that the leader and helpers put on behind the scenes, I have already been working on stuff for next Mondays meeting. I just recently made 2 cards for the 2 old assts that were leaving, I hope they liked them. even a card is welcome I am sure

I am one of the directors for girls scout daycamp and we made our volunteers each a card and a small token gift. I made votive holders this year , don't have my pics uploaded but this is where I got the inspiration for them http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...y/photo/202811
One of the other directors made keychains from counter top sample tags and stamped on them.
I've also been wanting to make something like this for volunteers.

Just peeked at this and lots of cute ideas. Reminded me ... anything "smores" would be fun gift as well. I loved this one http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...59635?si=scout
Will have to remember to go back and look more when I have lots of time.

I've been a GS leader for 4 years. Now I'm handing my oldest DD Junior troop to another Mom (I hope! ) so I can start a Brownie troop for my twins.

Here is a Thank You card I made for a teacher that ran a big multi-troop sing along. It uses an old retired SU set though....

I made my dd's sparks leaders (girl scouts here in Canada) a cute box with a DIY mini potted plant from Target's $ spot. The box had a gorgeous flower on top, and the inside was all decorated as well. I don't remember if I took pictures before I gave them away.

My ds's scout leaders are going to get their gifts in September. I simply ran out of time Though my ds made each of them a card. His scout leaders were amazingly active. They went camping 8 or 9 times from September to June on top of Kub Kars, fishing, canoeing, a zoo to you visit, law enforcement, First Aid and biking.

I am a former Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader and I just want to tell you all that anything will be appreciated! Like several people have mentioned, so few know the hours and hours of work that one does behind the scenes and I think that even the smallest token gifts are appreciated because it means that you (as parents) value the work they (the volunteers) do. One of my most memorable gifts, tho not my favorite item, was a rather tacky IMO unicorn figurine. The girl picked it out herself and was convinced that I would love it as much as she did. LOL It still cracks me up to think of it because it is sooooo not my style at all and the mother knew that.

I really think that you can't go wrong as long as you are genuinely appreciative of their hard work. Thank you all for supporting your scout leaders!
