Default Girl Scout scrapbook

I have been asked to make some scrapbooks for my nieces' leaders. Anyone know where I can get
Girl Scout papers and such at a reasonable rate? I need to make 4 or 5 albums. Thank you for any help or advice you
have to offer!

I overheard some ladies talking about GS papers at my LSS. Thw woman who works there said they arent allowed to sell any GS stuff, thats what the GS had decided. I imagine, that you could probably get some scrapbook stuff from the girl scouts though. Back when I was a GS they sold stuff at a certain department store, but I have no idea where now. Sorry I am no help to you.

This is a subject that is dear to my heart.

I do a training for Girl Scout Leaders on "Perserving Girl Scout Memories". Since most troops don't have many funds, I recommend a 8 1/2 x 11 book. Purchase a 3-ring binder and page protectors from the office supply store. (Yes, they do sell acid free protectors.)

I use SU cardstock. The following colors coordinate very well with their various uniforms (Daisy thru Senior):
Glorious Green, Sage Shadow, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Brilliant Blue, Yoyo Yellow and Kraft. Plus, you'll want to have red due to the many patriotic activities they do too.

The following stamp sets work great:
Watercolor garden - wonderful Daisys
Girl Power (now retired) - great overall GS set
Campout (now retired)
Girlfriends and Accessories
Pocket Fun
Roughing It
Pines or Lovely as a Tree
Great Outdoors wheel

Hemp, eyelets and brads are my favorite embellishments for GS scrapbooks.

If your GS Council has a store, they probably carry a GS foam stamp. The "GS" approved scrapbook paper is only available thru their GS approved vendor. However, IMO - it's not as economical as cardstock.

Have fun!

I got some at my girlscout store-single sheets and vellum words with the promise and the law. You could check your local store.

createforless.com has the girl scout cardstock too! 25 sheets for 12.99 I think.

Thanks....Has anyone ever ordered from Create for Less?
http://www.createforless.com/
They seem to have what I am looking for? I am not all that familiar with G.S. colors and such, but I am wondering
if there are SU colors that are similar to the GS colors. Can anyone help me with this? We have Daisies, Brownies and Juniors......

Dawn~ I was wondering about using a 3 ring binder. I was going to go to an office supply store and see if I can find
acid free page protectors. Thank you so much for that advice!
I think I will go with the SU cardstock and maybe 1 pack of the GS cardstock from Create for Less.
Now I just need to find time to do this along with my other niece's graduation announcements and favors for my mom's bowling banquet.

I worked for a friend who owns a Scrapbook store. Unfortunately she is going out of business. Bad, Bad location. Well anyway she is having a going out of business sale 35% off everything!! She has the Girl Scout 12x12 paper for $.36 a sheet, 11 sheets left, and the Girl Scout stickers for $.96 a sheet, 30 sheets left. These are the same paper and stickers listed on the scrapbook-it.com site on this thread for much, much, more!! Please let me know if your interested I can get you in touch with her!!

May I just add some more suggestions?

When I did my scrapbook pages about my daughter's participation in Girl Guides (Guides in Canada, Scouts in the US), I went to the Girl Guide store where the leaders buy the girls their badges and other supplies.

I used actual badges on the pages -- they are cheaper there than stickers are! They actually have a TON of stickers, badges, and other things that could be used in the scrapbook. I have sitting on my desk right now a bookmark that has the Pledge written on it -- perfect for a page.

They are a little bulky, but if you don't mind that, it's an inexpensive and great way to embellish your pages!

(BTW, one of my favorites was a Cookie-Seller badge that used cookies as the zeroes in the year: 2005. I used this as part of my title.)

Just recently I bought a number of Boy Scout items to make a scrapbook album for my nephew who just became an Eagle Scout!

I found a number of Boy Scout stickers at Archivers, and I did notice that they had Girl Scout ones also.

At the Boy Scout "store" (badges, uniforms, etc.), I ran across a full rack of different 12x12 scrapbook page papers for the different ranks, stickers (some the same as Archivers), and an album with the BSA Fleur de lis emblem (gold w/colors plastic like a trophy) on the front.

Maybe the Girl Scout store has something similar!
