Default fixing a stamp ?

I just received the beautiful Petal Prints set and have used it a few times. Well, one othe stamps is messed up. The rubber is lifted off the foam cushion. (the cushion underneath is really dry and sandy like). What kind of adhesive do I stick it back on with? Regular Rubber Cement or something else? Any help would be appreciated because this set is a forever keeper.

Rubber Thanks! Kathie

If you have not used it a lot I would speak with my demo. SU's demo support is awesome. I have fixed stamps when people have rubbed a little too hard by using mono adhesive. If there is a foam problem it may keep occuring which is why i would let your demo look at it.

Hope that helps!

When I want to reposition or recut a stamp set that I traded I put them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds (depending on the size- less time for smaller stamps). The rubber peels right off and the adhesive is nice and gooey - I've never had to add any additional adhesive before. The previous adhesive seems to melt a little bit and "freshens". Give it a try, you never know it might work.

PS. I've only tried this on SU stamps - don't know if that makes a difference or not.

HTH! Good Luck, Jennifer

I've not tried it, but someone on this board mentioned using Crystal Effects. I have also heard Rubber Cement, but that Crystal Effects works better. Sorry I'm not more help.

If the rubber is coming off, DS suggests using Rubber Cement. All you do is apply a thin coat to the actual rubber part and the foam part, let them dry to tacky and then press them together. These forms a very strong bond. If the foam comes off of the block you can use Crystal Effects and this holds great!

HTH!
