Default First Time Going To Archivers

Tomorrow night my husband's taking me out for my birthday. We're going to The Melting Pot for dinner, and low and behold...there's an Archiver's right across the way!

I've never been to one before. Is it worth while?

Thanks!

I went to the one in St. Louis earlier this year, I had more fun in the book store looking at all the stamping magazines.. To me it looked like just another scrapbook store.. nothing stood out as "wow" for me..

My Archiver's is about 45 minutes away so I visit infrequently. Make sure you check out their clearance section and the $1.99 bins. Go to their website and browse some. Do I go out of my way to visit? Maybe if I'm in the area. It's a chain so they offer alot of stuff. You're already on their front steps - go inside!

The closest Archiver's to me is 4 hours away. When gas didn't cost an arm and a leg, my DD and I would take trips a couple times a year. It was worth it to me then. Not so much now. I wanna how to get one in business closer to me!

Default I enjoyed

I enjoyed it the first time I went. Especially the $1.99 bin. I also liked looking around at the different cards and such that were created in the classes they give. If nothing else just stop in and look for new ideas. You never know what you'll stumble upon.

It's a lovely store, no question. I would also state they are one of the most expensive arts/crafts/stamps stores (and I've been to a lot!!!)

They offer coupons if you sign up on their mailing list, but their coupons are pretty meager, considering they are spendy.

LOVE THEIR STUFF THOUGH; would take one of everything!

I love Archiver's! If you were on the mailing list, you'd have coupons to take advantage of. One coupon they regularly feature is for free cardstock - no purchase required. Anyway, I can also vouch for their clearance and $1.99 Hot Spot. Even if you don't buy anything, it's a beautiful store to browse for ideas.

I was scheduled to drive to Florida in November and one of the stops I wanted to make was at an Archivers (never been before). And Target! But alas, I had to cancel my trip. Guess I'll have to try and schedule another trip across the border.

Archiver's rocks! Make sure (as others on here have said) to check out the clearance and $1.99 hot spot bins. They also have a really nice stamp selection (acrylic & wood mount). They also have a nice selection of Sizzix and Quick Kutz dies. The cashiers usually let you take pics of the ideas they have around the store if you want to. Have fun!!

OH! I love Archivers! I go there all the time. It's only ten minutes from my house. I was just there yesterday and they are having a sale on Bazzill Paper. twenty sheets for $1.99. I can't even tell you how many pieces of paper I bought. They do not carry a huge line of stamps, but the paper is fabulous.

The first time I went to Archiver's I wasn't impressed - probably because of all the hype - but it's grown on me. I rarely pay full price for anything. I use my coupons and shop the Hot Spot ($1.99 items). Lots and lots of eye candy though! Definitely worth the trip, but it's not like the Taz Mahal of stamping or anything. Did I spell that right?

Another Archivers fan. The closest one is 20 min away, depending on traffic, real close to a Caribou coffee. Makes for a great Saturday morning, meet and have coffee, go across parking lot to Archivers, Michaels is about 2 blocks away too.

It is worthwhile to sign up for the mailed coupons - at the least it is free cardstock every month, and there have been 30% discount coupons. They have the Just Rite monogram stamper. With the coupon and no shipping, I thought I got an okay deal. Here's a coupon from online:

Yes, they are making room for the new Bazzill paper, so all of the 81/2 by 11 sheets are on sale. And good colors too. all the reds, oranges, browns, tans etc. I was also going to mention, have your Husband sign up for the coupons too, this way you will get two sets of coupons to use.

I really love looking at the card samples that they have everywhere. I was telling the clerk how I was trying to remember one I was looking at and she said, "why don;t you find 4 that you like and make a color copy (4 fit on one page) on our machine?" So, now I pull the cards down and go make copies so I can look at them at home.

They have a lot of acrylic and wood mounted stamps that I like. Ditto on the Hot Spot and clearance areas.

Are you coming to Indy? We have a Melting Pot right near Archivers!

I love Archiver's too!! But just a warning STAY AWAY FROM THE FRONT TABLES! Those tables are dangerous. When you walk in they display their projects/cards for the month. There were times I would go in and would end up buying all of the supplies for some of their displayed cards..not good for the pocketbook

But as other people have posted check out the $1.99 bins, they are worth your while.

I love walking up and down the rows of beautiful pattern paper. It's so much fun picking it out sheet by sheet.
