Finally got my priorities straight
I finally got my priorities straight today. The kids had friends over to play so they were occupied. So I put housework aside and did alot of paper crafting instead. Yay! I need to do that more often. Usually it's the other way around. I always feel so much more productive and happy after crafting something than scrubbing toilets!

I find myself falling into this trap, too! I'll reward myself for cleaning or laundry with stamping time but then I never have enough time to create! So in the last few months, I just decided to start scheduling time for me and not feel guilty about it.
Doesn't it feel AWESOME??!!

Good for you.
My SCS signature line used to say, "The only place housework comes before stamping is in the dictionary."

I agree. Everyone needs some "me" time, even an hour, away from kids asking for something every two minutes, cooking dinner, laundry. . . Gosh, that list of things we gets is pretty long! No wonder I look forward to crop days and stamp nights.

You know what they say about cleaning house with kids ~ it's like nailing jello to a tree, lol!
That's really wonderful that you got some crafting time in It's nice to have an outlet and find some time to do the things you really love! I am a mom of 4 and paper crafting is my passion and therapeutic at the end (or start!) of a really crazy, busy scheduled day. I clean the house from top to bottom, and they can trash it in 30 minutes flat, but at least my stamp room is a happy place

LOL, I must have not ever gotten the house cleaning gene as I never wanna do that, so my house looks like a wreck. I just tell people, hey, this is my crafting area (and point to all the rooms at once).
HA!

I wish I could do that but if the house is a mess, it throws of my mojo. I keep threatening a cleaning lady! I need to start scheduling time in for myself and I don't even have kids!! But I travel for business so that makes it harder sometimes.

Well, I don't have kids either, but school certainly does take up a lot of time. However, I get around it by planning my stamping classes around the surgery I've had and the ones I plan to have in the future. yeah, I really did it. My club is still laughing about it. This is my year to schedule time for me and not spend forever at school. We've been back a week now and I'm so much more relaxed. Maybe a happy stamper makes a happier teacher. We' ll see.LOL

I'm with you baby...............last year we decided to get a cleaning lady mainly because I have a few problems with my back after sustaining an injury doing stupid gardening stuff which I used to love - but not anymore.
My hubby is wonderful in that now he is retired he does all the cooking and gardening woo hoo.....I make the beds, do the laundry, groom/feed the two dogs, and that's about it! Rest of the time I spend in my craftroom.
Mind you, sometimes I would love to get out in the garden and do stuff but cannot risk the consequences.
