Empty Punch Tin?? What do you do with it?
I never got any of the SU punches that came in the tin. So now that they are offering the chance to just buy the empty tin I"m curious what you all did with yours to use it as storage or to alter it in someway?? Any ideas??

I did order punches that came in the tin. I use them to store markers. One holds my SU! markers (I bought one colour family at a time, so didn't get a case) and the other holds my Sharpies.

I keep all my tag stamps together in one. One has all my SU srampin spots, cats eyes, and all other mini size ink pads. I have all my EP in a Tim Holtz container that is similar. I am thinking about putting giltter in one of the four I have ordered and will find uses for the rest. Mini punches just came to mind, cut CS for a project. Group cards by kind?(Credit to Inkyimages).

A customer of mine just ordered 4 of them to store her punches in!
They measure 10 1/2 x 6 1/2 x approx. 3 1/2 so you can get a good amount of items in them. They hold 4 of the large punches.
The lid is clear, great for seeing what's inside, and there is a latch on the lid so it doesn't pop open...which I think is a storage bonus.

I store my Cuttlebug folders and dies in mine. It's perfect for them! The cutting mats will also fit if you aren't full with folders like I am now....LOL

I have the Three for YOu set and I have punches in the tin, but thought it might be nice to have some more of the tins - they are pretty good quality - I didn't read the retired accessories list on purpose cuz I knew I would want something...then I saw this thread...

I use my to store markers. I ordered more today. I think I'm going to use one to store half sheets of cardstock. The other two I will use for workshop project storage/travel.

I am remembering seeing somewhere someone altered one as a gift container. Painted it maybe? or just used some DP and decorated it. You could do rolled up onsies for a baby gift, a cute outfit for a baby/toddler, craft supplies for an older child's gift
Just ideas...

Like someone just posted a few posts ago...I use mine to store all of my Cuttlebug embossing folders. At this moment, I can still fit my plates in there, too, but with the new folders that just came out...who knows???

I store my in-colors ink-pads, re-inkers, and ribbons in my tins - one box per year. I have 3 boxes all labeled 2007, 2008 and one with the old retired regular ink-pads, re-nkers and markers (mint-melody etc - was that in 2006?) I am ordering another one to keep my 2009 in-colors in. They stack beautifully so the foot print on top of my bookcase is just one tin. I hope I'm not going to regret buying only one!!

Now you're crackin' me up ~ because I was thinking the same thing!! I ordered 6 today and now that I'm reading all of these ideas I'm wondering if that's enough!! I wasn't sure I'd need six but then I saw the quantities people were ordering and I started to worry I'd want more and they'd be gone. Holy gee wilikers..... you'd think I was raised in the Depression or something, LOL!!
They look so nice and are just the right size. I have used mine for stamps, markers, and most commonly used tools. Now I'm thinking I'll use one for my Cuttlebug folders because they will soon outgrow the SU clamshell case they are in. Another comment that got me thinking was punches. I think I can put a lot of my smaller punches in one and that will work out really nicely. And the Just Rite stuff -- that's a great idea!!
I think it's great that they are selling us just the tin and at a great price, too!

I use my punch box all the time. I cut and stamp everything I need to make a bunch of cards in my stamp room. Then I put all the pieces and everything I need to assemble the cards in the punch box and assemble the cards while I watch tv with my husband.

Well Holy fill-in-the-blank !! Now I need a whole bunch more LOL!!
Apparently, I should have ordered a dozen or more to miraculously organize my 7-year-old daughter's collections of .... well, practically everything!! I can see it now. She could have a couple of shelves in her room of these tins all lined up in a row all labeled with what's inside. Yikes.
I love the idea of first aid for in the car, too. We now have a dog so nothing in the car is safe.
And gifts ... recipes.... They really should just make this tin a permanent item in the catalog !!
Thanks for posting the list - I missed it earlier today!
