Default Does this happen with your crystal effects?

I have only used it once a few weeks ago. I got it out today and none would come out. I think the spout was jammed with dried ce. So I got a pin and dug around the spout a bit and then it started flowing. Has this happened to anyone else? Did I do something wrong, or is this a normal occurance?

Mine did this every time except the first two times. I've tried storing it right side up, upside down, etc. Just make sure you don't put a pin in it. My upline told my sister-in-law to leave a stick pin in it and it rusted and turned all the clear CE orange and rusty.

Now I just leave a pin in the drawer with my CE.

This happens to me too.

I heat water to boiling in a glass mug that I have for this purpose and open up the top and stick it in the water for a couple of minutes to soften the ce and then stick a pin in to unclog.

Works like a charm.

It is a regular occurance. Just have to unclog the nozzle each time and it will flow again.

OMG! It is SO ANNOYING! I'm so glad it's not just me!! I keep a pin w/mine too - that is just TOO funny. At first, I just snipped a bit more off the tip, so now my tip opening is HUGE so I have to be careful not to goob too much out Whattapainintheneck! I should just break down and buy a new bottle, but I'm too cheeeeep!

It happens. I always have to stick a pin down it to make it flow. It's the nature of the beast!! I think it needs a twist top like Elmer's. ~Pam

Thanks for all the speedy replies! I am so glad I am not the only one with this issue! It appears to be everybody. Oh well, I still like the look so I'll keep using it.

Hey Emily, I know that this is common to all CE users..not just you.. and the reason to store it upside down is so that you can avoid as many bubbles as possible...so store it upside down and try not to shake the bottle up so as to avoid those annoying bubbles in your "pebbles"

Apparently Stampin Up! is aware of this problem with the Crystal Effects, because they provided a tool just for unclogging the glue in the new tool kit. Oh, I'm sorry...is that supposed to be for paper piercing?

Tinnalee you are tooo funny!!! But a word of warning...if you do get CE on your paper piercer you may find it difficult to get a nice sharp punch the next time you go to use it so be careful!

I tape a small straight pin to the side of my Crystal Effects bottle so that every time I want to use it, the pin is there and super handy! I don't have to worry about getting it all goopy since I use it over and over with my CE! AND I won't have to worry about getting my paper piercer all yucky! LOL!!!

I wrap a piece of wore from my wireworks set wrapped around the top and actually leave some wire in it. No rusting probs although once I used a piece of non-SU wire I had around and that did rust.

I put the pin in after I use it, and then I take it out just before putting it away. No rust, and I don't have to worry about digging a hole the next time I want to use it.

Hey, so do I. I should say "so do I when I forget to rinse the squeaze top out". And I usually put a piece of Saran Wrap over the large opening under the squeaze cap and rinse out the squeaze cap. I'm kinda anal about it because I lost a whole bottle of ce when I forgot to put the nozzle cap back on.

Hi! I read somewhere that someone used a plastic coated paper clip to unclog it and just use a rubberband to keep it attached to the side of the bottle when your finished using it. I personally have not used CE yet, but I am going to purchase some in the near future. It's on my very looooong wish list .

I think the spout was jammed with dried ce.

I keep a large unfolded paper clip in the bag with mine. I basically dig out a new hole each time I use it.

I wrapped a big rubberband around my bottle and then sliped a large pearl topped pin in this. Pin is always handy.

I don't even snip mine open anymore. I just unscrew the lid and either dip a brush right in, or pour a little on a paper plate. My most recent bottle has lasted a lot longer doing it this way.
