Delightful Doodles! It was the hostess set I got for having a party for my friend, who was a new demo at the time. I hardly bought anything; just figured I "wasn't creative." Years later I signed up under her to support my habit.

I still love Delightful Doodles, too...I always suggest it to my beginners because I know it hooked ME! Little flower and stem, and BAM! you're off and running! I feel sure it will retire soon, but I'll never let it go. That heart with poppin' pastels? Awesome.

Great memories everyone!

Fisrt stamps were a pine cone and a pine branch - and it was a nightmare to try and find two stamps that coordinated with each other.....needles to say, I only used them that one Christmas to make cards.

I went to my 1st SU party just to be nice to my neighbor - no intention of purchasing.......I bought DD Hydrangea and signed on a few weeks later as a demo! I, too, was so dissappointed to see that set retire! I sell off my retired sets - but still have DD Hydrangea - can't get rid of it!

My first Stampin' Up order was the Kanji set, the butterfly wheel, handle, and pretty in pink ink cartridge. It was my first party and it just happened to be when things were retiring and I was clueless what to get and had never heard of the company or seen a catalog before and that demo of that party wanted my friend, the hostess to close the night of the party, which was crappy. So I didn't have much to spend or much knowledge at the time.=) I chose the Kanji at the time since we're in Okinawa, Japan

My first SU purchase was Hang your Heart and Sweetheart Candy. I paid the extra and got the wood mounted ones, at that time you had to pick if you wanted foam mounted or wood mounted. I still have the sets and think about selling them from time to time but then I just can't let go of my babies!

I don't even remember what my "first ever stamp purchase" was, but my first SU purchase was the "home tweet home" I think was the name, with one big stamp with 5 birdhouses on it. I wish they hadn't retired that one, and the background one, with the splatter of dots, I'm drawing a blank on the name, and 4 individual pastel colors. No inks, no paper. Needless to say, I didn't get much use out of my stamps for awhile!

My first SU sets were Nice and Easy Notes along with Beyond the Basics. That was about 4 years ago, and I've used both those sets within the last week.

Holiday Hedgehogs, followed by DD Daisy after the holidays. I still really like both sets and use them a lot. I am hoping for new hedgehog sets as well.

Default ...interesting question

My first SU purchase was when I was in a direct sales swap group, and I had to purchase something from an SU demo. I didn't do any scrapping or cardmaking or anything, so I bought the business memos. Now I'm not doing direct sales anymore and I just traded it

My very first stamp was a PSX birdbath. I still like it. My first Stampin Up was a set called Branch, or Branches, it has branches, leaves, apples, birdhouses, flowers. It is pretty versatile. I still like it, also. I didn't know back then to save the part of the stickers with the name of the set.
I've learned plenty, and especially since I found this site. Eileen

I don't remember the names of the first sets I bought - it was a LONG time ago! One was a sunflower with a pot, butterfly and checked border. The other was a postage set. I remember I also got my first SU ink and paper - eggplant envy.

Fun thread!!!

My very first stamp set was 16 months and 45 stamp sets ago. It was Tags & More. It was actually a really great first purchase because it gave me a bit of everything and then the need for more

My first order was Girl Power. I'd heard about it as being the only GS style stamp set around (because GS holds the trademark so tight). My demo brought over a catalog and I also bought Chore Chart (which I've never mounted ) and Cheery Chat.

Think my demo was pretty pleased with a $90 order from a random stranger.

It was right before Chrismas so I told myself I would only spend 50.00 b/c it was good friend's party....I bought simple wishes! it was 11.95 and it could be used for so many things--I still use it I also bought 2 wheels (snowmen and gifts) with a rose red and black cartridge, and basic black ink pad (3 years later, I still haven't had to re-ink it!) silly me, I figured I could get the paper at michael's--what was I thinking! ... but then I alos got 10% of my order if I booked a party---so I said sure! and I I've been stamping ever since--love it!

My first set was "hope is" -- the breast cancer set from last fall. I saw it in a magazine ad and bought it because 2 of my aunts had breast cancer. I had never seen a SU catalog. I found the demo using demo finder from the website. She asked me if that was the only item I wanted. I asked "what else does SU sell?" --- Oh boy then I saw the catalog!! It was Fall so I bought Solemn Stillness for my Christmas cards since I was mostly a scrapper and had never made cards. I was HOOKED. Now less then 6 months later and lafter ots of sales for her, I am my own demo.

My first stamp set was Simple Seasonal and I also bought the regal petal point pad (which I now never use) and the chalks. I had seen a SU ad in CK magazine with a leaf and I wanted to use that leaf for a scrapbook page. The leaf stamp was actually from a SAB set, which I also earned. I never used Simple Seasonal so I gave it away as a door prize at a stamp camp. I became a demo 3 months after attending my first workshop. I no longer demo but it was a fun time.

My first stamp set was A Greeting for All Reasons. Shortly after purchasing it, I realized it wasn't quite my style, hence I no longer own it.

My first SU party I went to was in summer of 2003. I bought A Greeting for All Reasons, Itty Bitty Bolds and another set that retired right after that, it was a safari set. I also bought 6 ink pads and the Stampin' Scrub and Mist. I haven't looked back. I use the Itty Bitty Bolds set a lot, the other two not so much, but enough that I wouldn't get rid of them.

Lace Snowflakes and the snowflake wheel were my first SU stamps. Years ago I bought an initial stamp to stamp on the outside of envelopes. Still have it. I'll never give up Lace Snowflakes it is too pretty!

I had no idea what "rubber stamping" was until I attended a SU! party as my friend's guest. and even after the demo I kinda didn't "get it" but I loved the concept of wheels, so my first stamp related purchase was the butterfly wheel, handle, and eggplant envy cartridge.

then after my friend took me under her wing and kinda showed me the ropes I attended another workshop, and got some ink pads, brushstroke alphabet, and got watercolor minis for free (it was SAB). still have, and use 'em all and love them!

so here about 200 sets later I'm glad I became a demo! it's saved DH a lot of $

The Victorian Lace background stamp...it was a real journey to SU as we didn't have SU in Canada then and we had seen this stamp in a magazine...we heard via a lady in Bonners that someone in Sandpoint sold SU...well we found her and what a joy and blessing...I will not say how many came after that ...but it's been a wonderful journey and a wonderful friendship with our demo! Thanks M.

First stamp ever was a dolphin stamp that my grandmother gave me when I was 12. Since then quite a few stamps purchased from brick and mortar stores.

First SU! stamp set was purchased in 1996 and it was the Jar of Fun wood mounted set. I have actually never used the set though. I really wanted Button Bear but settled for a less expensive set. I did finally purchase Button Bear the year it retired.

Fun question!

My first stamp purchased was from Dots in 1994. It was a 4x4" lamb that I was going to use to make baby stuff since I was pregnant. I have never stopped. I was introduced to Stampin' Up in 2001.

A Merry Season back in 2001. I made my very first Christmas cards using that set. I'll probably never part with it, for sentimental reasons!

Flutterbys! And I still use if often! I hated to see it retire, but I use it so much, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it even though I can't demo with it. Two-step stamping got me hooked as it is SO easy. After several years of stamping, I've expanded my tastes for various techniques, but when I need something quick I still go for those two-step sets!
