This may be a really specialized question, but I'm going to ask anyway.
I have a gazillion pictures of cards on my computer that amount to my inspiration files and what has gone on my gallery and blog. I'm getting ready to keyword them and have created a listing of tags to use. But I would really like to have a pretty good listing before I start.
What kinds of keywords do you use for your card samples on your computer?
So far I have keywords for:
...occasions like anniversary, baby, christmas, graduation, sympathy, valentines, wedding
...shapes like round, scrapling, square, tags, specialty shape
...materials like acetate, designer paper, vellum
...styles like collage, distressed, shabby chic, brayered, OLC
...techniques like die cutting, embossing folders, heat embossing, punches, punch art
...coloring like watercolor, markers, prismacolor, pastels
...others like masculine, humorous, small images, inchies, SUO
Do you have any suggestions for others that would be good? I can apply as many keywords to each picture as I'd like.
I broke down my Christmas into several others: greenery, ornaments, snowflakes & snowmen, animals, dies & embossing, and Christmas misc. Also broke down birthdays into masculine and kids.
I think the best way to apply keywords is to look at the card and just type what comes to your mind and keep it simple (what you have are great examples). You'd be surprised what you come up with. If you think too hard as you are trying to come up with enough keywords, you'll just forget them later. (for example, how many ways can you say "Masculine"? male, boy, man… if you don't normally say "lad", then that keyword isn't necessary).
btw, I don't know what OS you are using, but on a Mac the keywords are also included in searches so that's a plus.
I can drag and drop just like iPhoto. (Have both Mac and windows OS on 2 computers) That's why I wanted to have a starter list. I forgot kids cards. Thanks!

Interesting thought! I don't do that but I do title my cards if they are for a challenge with the challenge keyword and number. I'll have to think about your suggestion! Would make it easy to search! Thanks!
