I enjoy making my cards, invitations, note pads, etc., but I'm just a craftsman. If I were to actually sell my creations for profit, that would take it from a craft to a business for me. To me it takes all the fun out of it. I will make cards, etc. if someone asks me, but not to take any $$.

Default card selling

Well, actually I don't think anyone selling their cards actually makes a profit! I love making cards for the creativity but as I am fortunate enough to be able to make cards all day almost every day, I have to find somewhere for them to go and it helps me pay for my paper and I get a buzz out of people actually liking my cards, buying them because they are nice and a bonus that they are getting them cheap!

On the back I write the date I made it, the recipe, and who I sent it to. Sometimes when I make a cute girly birthday card that is actually really cool, over the next several months I duplicate it to send several girl cousins in their teens and 20s. They never compare with each other! I like to have something physical that I can sit with on the couch and flip through and look at. Sort of my "Greatest Hits."
This is pretty much what I do. I take photos with my digital camera and download them to my computer; I upload photos into my SCS gallery, and I make a photocopy of any card that actually gets mailed to someone. That copy goes into a 3-ring notebook that is organized by type of card: anniversary, birthday/male, birthday/female, fall, christmas, general, etc. On the copy I note the name of the person I sent it to and the date. This way I won't duplicate a card that I made for one niece when I make a card for the other niece, etc. It also gives me something to look at without having to sign on the computer.

I do not sell or mass product any of my cards. They are all personalized so it's not that big of a chore yet for me to do this.

I colour copy all my cards at 50% and keep them in a binder. This takes up less room than keeping extra cards and all I have to do is double the measurements on the sample to get the original size.

Unless it's a swap or I have to make a set, just one. I can't have two of the same kind it seems. I did a few times this Christmas but I felt like I was cheating for not being creative and not coming up with a new layout. I think there's something wrong with me.

What an interesting thread! I was just thinking about my stamping habits. I always make at least two of the same card if not more. I figure I have all the supplies out I might as well just cut all the card stock at once, get the stamps all dirty and clean up all at the same time.

I do try and post in my gallery and I've already noticed a huge difference in my stamping ability since I started stamping.

Since I have to cut the paper in half I go ahead and make 2. If it 'flops' I give it to someone who won't care!!!
