Default Dilemma with 10 club obligation

I am in 2 different 10 clubs with 2 different demos. I am filling out paperwork to be a demo with a third non-local demo. Is there any way I can get out of the 10 club obligation without causing a problem for the group? Would it be kosher for me to replace myself and what if I cannot? It means $300 of product over the year without using my own discount. Any ideas?

The trhead header is "Dilemma with 10 club obligation".....which says it all. You are obligated to fulfill the agreenments you made when you joined these various clubs. It would be unfair to both the other members and the demo for you do anything but fulfill your obligation as you would expect them to do the same.

I think you should talk to you club demos. Once you explain the situation, they would probably let you order at cost or they might have someone else interested in the club already.
Good Luck!

I think you should fulfill your obligations to both clubs..it wouldn't be fair to the other club members.

I would say either fulfill your obligation or find someone to replace your spot in one, or both of the clubs. And talk to the demos - they may know someone who wants to start a club, but does not know enough people to do one on their own, so might take your spot.

Good luck, and congrats on becoming a demo!

I know that someone has replaced themselves or actually went through the demo and she sent out a message to everyone saying she had an open spot and she filled it with someone else - but the original lady had to keep up her end of the obligation until someone else was found.... Maybe you can talk to her and see if she can do something like this?

I would talk to the demos first, but I wouldn't see a problem with replacing yourself if that was okay with them. I wouldn't back out without doing so, though.

I had the same situation when I signed up as a demo...my upline actually runs the stampers club I belong to. I just decided that this was a commitment I had made to my group of card club ladies, and I decided to stick with it as a customer. Now, some uplines I've heard have extended their 20% discount as a courtesy, but I didn't expect that and it wasn't offered. I just try to stick to supply items like paper and stuff. Quite often she runs specials that bring the price down to my demo cost, so all I'm out is the volume rebate for those purchases.

Also, I keep reminding myself that I also get a turn as hostess every so often and reap the goodies from that...

It puts a strain on others (the other members of the group and the demonstrator especially) when someone drops out of a group. Based upon previous experience, I HIGHLY suggest you stick with it.

How would you feel if someone wanted to drop out of one of YOUR clubs? It's that old 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' thing.

The other thing that came to my mind is the possibility, should either demo move away or go inactive, that these women could be potential clients or refer people to you. I think I would try to keep it as amiable as possible by fulfilling the obligations you have made.

Have fun with your new adventure!

Have you already had your turn as "hostess"? If you've already been the hostess and received the benefits, you really need to stick with the club. The reasons being are that it will look like you were just in it long enough to get the freebies, if you leave without a replacement it will put a strain on the other members to cover your portion, and if you get a replacement that person wouldn't get any benefits because you already got them. See my point?! However, if you haven't received the benefits, talk to the demo's. At that point they probably wouldn't mind if you found a replacement. Just don't leave them high and dry.

Update: I spoke to one of the demos last night and she said no problem. There is another woman in the group who always orders at least $30 a month who said she would love to count as 2 people so she can get the hostess benefits twice. So, that one is solved. I will talk to the other demo and see what she thinks.

I agree with Rebecca. I belong to one of these clubs and the first person who was the hostess dropped out right after her time. My demo made up the difference at all of the other meetings. I don't know how she felt about it but I was ticked off.

Are you actually signing up under one of these 2 demos?

Okay, okay, so I am a few days behind in reading and such! This thread is probably long dead but, hey? I am committed to a Stamper's 10. When my Mother and Sister came to visit in September they also decided to become part of the Stamper's 10. My Mom and Sister live in Manitoba, Canada and I live in British Columbia. I became a rep in February 2005 only 2 months into our Stamper's 10. My Mom was staying with me until March, so, she was able to attend in Jan and Feb. My sister however, has never even been present at one! ALL 3 of us are still committed to the Stamper's 10 and have no intentions or thoughts about backing out! COMMITMENT!
