I am thinking of trying out digital stamping. But not sure if that is a good idea. Anyone has any opinion on digi stamps? Also will I be able to change the image outline colour?
Does anyone know of any digital stamp companies with nice/cute stamp images? Can I have the website link?
Sure it's a good idea Joyce! It's another tool in your crafting toolbox in my opinion. We have some Here. We have a free one here and here if you want to try one out. There are other free ones to try in a forum down below under downloads.
I saw these cute ones the other day by a kid. They are free to try out too.
For the free ones on Splitcoast that are in a thread just right click on the image and save to your desktop.

You're welcome. Mo has some really cool images in my opinion. Don't have the link handy, maybe someone else does. There are plenty of threads here on resizing and printing tips. Oh... we have an auction every Thursday for one of a kind digital stamps. The winner will be the only one to use it... ever! It's something fun to do. Good luck with your search!!
Oh wow....... digi stamp sure has a lot of fans. Thanks for the links Tim.
My craft room is full of stamps and I am running out of space. The wooden handle ones are taking up alot of space but I am hesitant to remove the rubber from the wooden block. My 2 year old bookshelf is already packed full of staff including my stamping and cardmaking materials :P
I found digi stamps 4-5 months ago and I am totally hooked. They are great. No storage problems, no bad images because of too little or too much pressure or ink applied. One thing I was always unhappy about with regular stamps was that you were stuck with the size or orientation of the stamp, With digis, you can change size or the direction it is facing. You can match your ink color to SU colors with the RGB formulas found on SCS. I even have many of my own line drawings I am working on to convert to digi images. Even big traditional stamp companies like SU are offering digital images now. I think this new 'line' of the stamping world will just keep growing and growing.

This is the link to Mo's. I use them, along with many others. Along with others already mentioned, here is a good one. http://www.mcmahonfivedesign.com/

thanks for the links.. .and once you start you just cant stop lol
A big thank you to BirdsCards for the short video on changing color of line-art. I had tried to do this in other programs and was stymied. My older version of Photoshop worked in the same way as yours. Now I just need to write this down so I don't forget.
As for using digital stamps, I was very grateful to find several cute ones to print for my granddaughter's birthday. Put lots of pictures into the guests "goodie bags."

You are very welcome, I'm a beginner myself so I know most probably know how to do it but I've only recently discovered how to do it myself and now I want to change them all! ha ha

My question for all of you digi stamp users is: What kind of printer do you have?
I am certain that my printer has smeary ink! Any recommendations?
Try switching the normal black ink for a "photo" ink cartridge, if you have that option. For my printer, the normal black ink smears for things like blending Prismacolor pencils, but the photo ink is fine. The photo ink works for Copics, too.
Also make sure that the ink is thoroughly dry before you start to color. Heat setting will speed up the drying time.
thanks ladies- I don't think I have a photo setting but I do have an HP photo printer, maybe that will work. Would love a laser printer but don't think it's in the budget!
Just wanted to pop in and let you know how much I love digital images! I have my own site that I've designed digis with HERE, we just did a fun release of animals on the Blog HERE.
Since I design for the love of drawing and truly believe that there is room for EVERYONE in the crafting world (heehee), here are some great sites for freebies for you to try out:
Of course this is just a tip of the iceberg! Since digis are so user friendly and require no shipping cost, they are so accessible! I try to do a Friday post on my blog featuring free digital images that I have come across on blog hopping. Have fun! It's addiciting!
I just found another site. Stamp-n-Doodle has digital and rubber stamps. There are some gorgeous winter scenes in the digital section.
Thanks. I love that Wooly Kiss in the Christmas section. There are so many beautiful ones.

I have to take back anything bad I ever said about digi stamps. They do have their good points and bad points, just like normal stamps. But... I really do love them. I have been playing around with them this weekend and even joined a Dustin Pike swap with his artwork. LOVE THEM!!! Talk about instant gratification if you need a stamp fix too!!!
Just make sure to back up your hard drive. Don't want to be losing any of those babies.

I guess I could, but I have them all in a file, i.e. animals, christmas, etc... I don't think I would be able to tell the free ones from the not free ones.
I would check first before you swap the not so free ones. Swapping cards made with the images are fine but actually sending someone one of his digitals that he sells is not in accordance with the terms on his site.
"My art, graphics, files etc. may not be duplicated, resold, shared, in any form for any reason. Including posting them on the web, blogs, forums. This includes freebies, please direct them to my site to download their own copy."
Freebies are of course free but they are a marketing tool to bring traffic to a site. So postings links to an artist's/companie's site is usually the best way to go.
Most companies, including us, have similar agreements. Just a FYI!

Yes... Not swapping digi-stamps. The Card Swap is posted as a link on Dustin's home page. Or click HERE
Yup. I posted them my Dustin Pike cards on my blog that I'm going to be sending in for the card swap http://lzjustkeepingbusy.blogspot.com and totally gave him credit for the images. I LOVE Dustin Pike images. But I just bought, over the long holiday, some MyGraphico, D.A.I.S.I.E.S. and some others.
They are really wonderful. They do have their pro's and con's just like rubber stamps... but overall, offer a new dimension to stamping. My friends are calling me a poser for using them. Since they are not being 'stamped' like a stamp. But I bet I could do an image and stamp an image and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference!
BirdsCards, you are a great teacher!! Tonight I open a small clip art in my old PhotoShop app. Then I opened your video. Followed your instructions. Everything worked great. Just had to search in a different menu for Hue/Saturation.
Hi! Just ordered several digi stamps from the DZ Doodle link a few posts back....
Fabulous selection!!!
Thanx for posting all those links....
Happy Day everyone!
