Did you ever...
put something away in a place you thought was such a great place that you wouldn't forget where you put it...then not remember where that special place is??? I finally got the chance to play with my stuff after moving into a different apartment. I drug out my Cuttlebug to play with the new folders and I'll be danged if I can find the plates! I remember putting them in something thinking it was the perfect thing/place...and where was that again??? grrrrr :???:

Yep, I cleaned my desk the other day and now I can't find about 50 transparencies. I was going to make some Halloween goodies for DD's class. Now I have to make a special trip to Office Depot because I have looked EVERYWHERE and I still can't find them.

I totally understand. I made a scapbook as a sign in book for my wedding. I started it then put it aside to work on other projects. I know i put it some place where it wouldnt get dusty or bent pages but i couldnt find it! I had to make another one! so somewhere theres a really nice scrapbook thats partly finished.

I do that all the time. You would think by now I'd have a designated "special place" but I don't and continue to go through the turmoil. I hope you find it!

Yes, about a year ago I replaced my digital camera because DS broke the ctach that hold the battery pack in place. However, since the old camera still worked on a tripod, I put the charger away in a safe place. Well, it took me a year to find where that safe place was! UGH!

The "onesies" are the hardest thing to store and find again. They're the stray things like an edge distresser or that thing that removes the back of buttons. Personally, I keep the plates under the Cuttlebug. Misplacing stuff must be Mother Nature's way of getting us to clean and organize more.

This has become well known in our house as the Fort Knox Safe Place phenomenom! So safe it may as well be in Fort Knox
Conversation with DH
DH - "where did you put it"
Me - "do you really want to know?"
DH - " oh no, not the safe place"
Me - " that about sums it up"

Yeah, I thought about that!
but no, she is my very straight up one---can't ever lie, she crumbles sometimes before you even know what is up.
But the $$$ is in my craft room, that I do know, in fact that is what prompted a major cleaning last week, but still haven't found it!

I do this constantly, then need DH to help me look cause if I can't find something I'm looking for it drives me crazy until I've found it. Often DH suggests I shouldn't put anything in a safe place since I'm constantly forgetting sounds like I don't need to do housework anymore

I misplaced two sets of scrapbook pages that I had done at my monthly scrap night. I finally found them but it took me three weeks of searching and a sleepless night worried about my precious pages, LOL. I also lost a stamp set that I still have not found and so I bought the same set from a friend of mine. I was certain that it would show up the minute I paid for the other one but I still can't find it.

So glad to know I'm not the only one! My biggest one is battery chargers - I've got at least 3 cordless screwdrivers that I can't find the chargers for. Everytime I buy a new one I swear to myself that I'm going to remember where I put the charger - no such luck!

I do this all of the time too. One time I hid a couple of gold necklaces and to this day, I cannot find them. At one time I had them in a sock and I shudder to think that perhaps I donated the clothes to a charity.

Yes lost my plates a few weeks back. Tore the house apart, garage, craft area, looked inside books between papers.....They turned up yesterday IN THE BOX the CB came in that I keep all of my folders and dies in. They got pushed against the side wall in another direction than the stored items and since they were clear..just blended! My DH is still standing there shaking his head at that one LOL

I've done that this morning, I am looking for my white crayon, for the crayon resist, I can't find it anywhere, but in the process of looking for it I did find my xacto knife blades that I was looking for a couple of weeks ago.
I like Julie's post, I have done that as well I search and search for something and can't find it, I sit down and I remember where I put it, most times.
I am so glad that I am not the only one that loses things.

My all-time worst was the key to a rental car. Luckily it was before the major security screenings at the airport because we got there with about 3 minutes to spare (after calling a locksmith and unpacking all the suitcases). I still don't know what possessed me to put a rental car key in a ski boot!

Yep, do it all the time! I just found a small pack of CTMH embellishments that I got in a kit more than a year ago... I had put the pack of embellishments in my 12x12 plastic paper holder thing with some older retired papers that I hardly ever touch.... pulled it out to see if there was anything that would match a card I was working on and it was like Christmas when I found those little embellishments in there!
But I just realized that's not what you were talking about.
I also put something away thinking it;s the perfect safe spot and then can't find it.... my reinkers, have them in a plastic bin thing.. all of them... put them behind a cabinet door in my desk instead of on the shelf where the WERE.... I looked all over for those things about ready to pull my hair out!
So, yep, I do that all the time!

I lose something everyday. it is soo annoying! I always have to do the same thinking process, it takes me a while usually. I just try to remeber what I did that day and try to recreate where I went and what I did. Most of the time it comes to me. I have been going through my whole house regularly and cleaning everything and cleaning out all clutter. It has really helped me find things.
Considering how my DH, DD, DS ask me where everything they want is it makes my list of "where is_" a huge undertaking!!
I probably spend at least an hour a day looking for something!
the only thing I have never been able to find is a xbox 360 game 2 years ago and I think one of my kids threw it in the christmas wrapping paper garbage bag. I dug and dug but I didnt see it. They were pretty little then and it wasnt intentional. Of course it was my favorite game and I had almost completed it. Ugg!!
Hope everyone finds what they are looking for!
Dont lose your minds!!! :p

I always put things up so I'll be able to find them when I need them. the only problem is remembering where that is. I also put something down thinking I might have a problem finding it there later. Why I don't put is somewhere else right then I couldn't tell you.

Okay, you may think this is nuts. but I PROMISE it works... I was raised Catholic, and learned a poem in grade school. ***You only do this if you honestly looked everywhere you can think!!!*** It goes like this:
"Tony, Tony, look around, something's lost and must be found" (St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost things and missing persons.)
I have done this twice in about 10 years, and it worked both times. Once I was looking for 2 gift certificates to a scrapbook store I'd gotten my friends for Christmas, and was going crazy. I said the poem, and found them in my laundry room under some dirty clothes a day later.
Good luck! ;)

Sure have! The first week of Sept. I went to the LSS in Chico and got my Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy paper so I would be ready when I got the camping pictures of my Grandson....Well, I just bought it again this Saturday, because I can't find the first paper or ribbon I bought! ????
Oh well, I may have paper for next year too!

Regularly. Helps keep me tidy, and they always turn up in a day or two, but DH is used to me wandering around looking in totally improbably places, and looking in the same place for the third time.

It is so nice to see that we are alike. I hid money about 6 months ago. So my DH would not spend it. I wanted it to buy presents. Of course, the question is where is the special place?

That is such a Catholic thing! My very Italian Catholic grandparents taught us that! I haven't heard that in a long time! Thanks for the memories!

All the time! Drives me nuts, especially when I know I put it somewhere so I would not lose it. I should leave notes for myself but I'd probably lose the notes too.
