Is there a way to design and produce your own stamps? It could be rubber or clear stamps. I only know the DIYS clearstamp imagepac. Do you know some links for me?
I don't know specific links, but I'm sure you could find a lot if you just google it. Sometimes you can find local producers as well. Maybe try asking at your local craft store.
If you are just in it for yourself on a small scale you can get printmaking materials at art stores like Dick Blick. I have the rubber and craving tools to make my own. I just haven't sat down to do it.
I've ordered several "sheets" from village impressions....She is AWESOME!!! You can use clip art or draw your own and she will make as much as you can fit on a 8.5 x 11 page. I can usually fit about 20 - 25 on a page. AND....she is really quick. The turnaround time is usually about 1 week.
Have fun!
Location: My wife is a secret sister..I can not divulge that imformation.

I would love to make my own stamps or even have them made for me, i am always drawing things for cards that no one has, if I just had my own stamps that would be cool
There are a few ways to get your artwork made into rubber or acrylic stamps.
1. Buy a do-it-yourself kit. Cost $50 - $300+. With the ones I'm aware of, you'll need to buy UV lighting and other materials plus have laser or toner-based copies (not inkjet prints) made of your images. There's a bit of a learning curve for both rubber and acrylic but it's not impossible to make your own. I've tried the rubber kit and wasn't that impressed with the results. I ended up wasting a lot of rubber and the end product was merely OK. Your results may vary. :-)
2. Have someone else make them. The prices vary widely from one manufacturer to the next. Many rubber stamp manufacturers charge per sheet of rubber and give quantity discounts when you order each stamp sheet in bulk. It's important to note that these companies will charge extra for making the matrix boards (these are the molds in the stamp-making process) or have a set-up fee. This varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, anywhere from $50 - $100 per design sheet. Once you make a matrix, it lasts nearly forever and you won't have to make it again.
For clear acrylic stamps, the process is different. No matrix is made, so that saves you some cash up front. The companies I know of that manufacture acrylic require a minimum of each sheet you make. (Sheets for both rubber and acrylic are generally around 8"x10" or smaller.) This can get costly if you want only a few of each stamp.
There is one manufacturer that's super cheap and has decent quality. ReadyStamps in San Diego. I've used them once or twice and was satisfied with the product. They don't do deep-etch rubber, so if you have complex designs, they may not be the right shop for you. I think a 9" square sheet of rubber + the matrix was under $35.
[I haven't updated this list in over a year, so it may be a little outdated.]

Sheet Size: 9"x7"
Set Up: NONE
Price per sheet: $32.00 for first order (includes plate & matrix). Re-order prices not known at this writing.
I have an Imagepac kit and I think it's great. It literally takes 30 minutes to make a stamp, with the actual stamp processing time just 12 minutes. In addition to the kit you only need a regular 60w light globe and height adjustable lamp.
There is a video of how it works here :

(sorry, can't post a link yet as I don't have enough posts)
THANK YOU Madamecraftypants for sharing this link with me and also for all that great information. You've been extremely helpful and gave me a lot of information!!! Thanks a bunch!!!
it's from Just Rite Stamps...and you can do it pretty easily it seems from the video online....looks like a great income opportunity as well if you get in on the ground floor...
I make my own acrylic stamps ... didn't need any fancy machines to do it either.
2 black light bulbs (I don't have the model numbers of the bulbs - but certain ones work, others done). I have these mounted in the black light things you can buy at places like spencers in the mall...
I buy my photo polymer from Jackson Manufacturing.. I use regular printable transparancies to make my negatives with and then I use powdered laundry detergent as my scrub out to clean them up... to expose the stamps I use Kodak photo glass (used exposed photo glass).. but you can use any kind of glass, just try to get thicker because glass that you use in picture frames can shatter easier.
We just moved, so most of my stuff is still packed right now. I found a site online that explains the process, and pretty much went from there. Took a few tries on the bulbs to get the right ones...
There was a thread on this about a year ago I participated in, so I'm sure if you search back a bit, you'll find more information...
I was tempted to start making rubber stamps - but I didn't want to have to invest in making the plates and such on my own... but if your interested and doodle a lot you can get some stamp vulcanizers on ebay pretty darn cheap...
Does anybody know some European manufacturers as well?
TIA
Linda
Doeg, Linda! Hoe gaat alles in Nederland? I've been craving some stroop waffles like crazy lately. Anyways, I just ran across Impression Obsession manufacturers and they distribute in NL. Here's the link http://www.impression-obsession.com/
