Sadly my dad, sister, FIL, and many many friends are Republican....those are the breaks when you live in Texas.

Polymer is the material that the stamps are made from- it's a little softer than the old-fashioned pink vulcanized rubber so you'll want to use less pressure when stamping. Most of Amazing Arts stamps may be had mounted on wood or unmounted. The Obama set is unmounted. Unmounted stamps are made from the clear polymer that clings without any adhesive. It should say clearly in the description whether it's mounted or not...

Oh my gosh! I got the stamps today......and they even exceeded my expectations. The images stamp perfectly....and thanks again Scott for the freebies! The clear polymer is not quite as clear as the regular clear stamps, but still clear ( just slightly opaque). Also, they seem to be the same weight as rubber unmounted. They are more substantial than the usual store bought clear stamps, and not as gelatinous.

So, I very very satisfied with my purchase.

Thanks for the info! I hope the question didn't come off as a put-down...I'd just never heard "polymer" and "rubber" used together to describe a stamp, lol!

OK, then it sounds like the same stuff that Stampin' Up! uses to make their personalized stamps...thanks so much for the answers!

"Friends don't let friends vote Republican"....I love it, lol!
