Default Dauber or spongy things for Oxide Inks

what type of spongy things or dauber do you use to smear your Oxide inks? How do you store them so they donít get mixed up?

I have that little mini distress tool with the round foamies and it is shredding and making a mess everywhere? What am I doing wrong?

Should I get 24 little dauber or more foamies. What are you ladies using? How do you keep everything from mushing together in your drawer?

Hi there, I'd suggest that possibly you are applying too much pressure if the foams are starting to shred. They will shred a little over time, but will last for ages before they do. I'm guessing it's the action of coming in from the edge of the cardstock- too much pressure is causing the edge of the cardstock to wear the foams.
I just keep my spare foams in a small tub, and fish out the colour I want when I need it. Many people attach one to the bottom of each inkpad with some Velcro-(Hook & Loop tape), others laminate a sheet of cardstock, and stick the foams to that with the same tape.
You can use make-up sponges, or dusting brushes for applying ink, so there are a number of options. Might be worth grabbing a bag of make up sponges, and seeing if you prefer them? They're cheap, and easily available.

I'm in the process of getting rid of my daubers because they shred to fast. I edge almost every time I stamp and the distress applicators i.e. spongy things, seem to last longer. I don't have good luck with makeup sponges as I seem to always get a line.

I was storing the sponges with individual color but I found that you don't need one for every color just shades of colors (light blue, dk blue, red, pink, etc. I just toss the applicators in a baggie.

I'm lazy. I have a small ice cream dish that I heap my daubers in and then store on my cabinet shelf. Once I'm done with them, I do squirt some water on them and 'tap' them on a cloth or towel to get the ink off. Then I let them sit on my desk for about an hour to dry and then just toss them in. Works for me! Oh, and I use the SU daubers. So far, so good. No shredding.

I use Tsukeniko (sp?) daubers. I got a few to try at a show and loved them. I use my label maker to put the color on it so I know which is which.
