I haven't had the opportunity to stamp and keep up with current trends due to moving house and family commitments for about a year now. I'd love to get started right back in with something different and new. Any ideas? My style is mostly 'clean and simple' but I just love to stamp and will try anything!
Try a Pinterest search, maybe Rubber Stamping, or Clean & Simple? Always lots of inspiration on there. There is a clean & Simple board of cards I've pinned for my inspiration on my Pinterest page,

Rats! Wouldn't you know it? I still like stuff that's "Out." And I'm not too crazy about all that "In" stuff either.
Oh well, I've always marched to a different drum.

I am a little confused on your "outs" regarding figures to color
are you talking about little girl figures like
MFT girls
ccdegins girls
magnolia
saturated canary girls
sugar nellie girls
art imprssion old ladies
These are what people "Like "to color with copis" I did not know these are "out"
Are these what you are talking about??????
Because I just got all that from the last 2 pages of uploads just now.

No offense meant, but I agree, colouring figures with copics is never out! Colouring whimsical animals like Penny Black, MFT, Stamping Bella, Sugar Nellie, creatures and people from Sweet and Sassy Stamps , There She Goes, The Cat's Pyjama's, and Taylored Expressions are all very popular.

Oh Thank You! "Cause my Favorites are Penny Black and Whipper Snapper.
But than again I would start the "IN" trend all over again just for these Cute little guys :p
I am so glad I am not "Out" "Over" or Whatever :p

I think new colors are a trend. Lots of summery brights. Strong peach, shades of ocean blues, yellows, oranges, greens, but all summery shadow colors. Lots of strong combinations such as all shades of pink to dark rose, lime to celery type greens, bright buttery yellows, sky blues to ocean tide blues, bright to dusty oranges. These colors say bright and summery.
I've noticed that the octopus is really popular. At a local chalk art festival and famer's market. There were 4 chalk art pictures that had an octopus in it, and lots of jewelry with an octopus on it. I think the owl is on the way out.
I wasn't ever able to hop on the flags and banners bandwagon. Just didn't seem to be my cuppa tea. I love Penny Black and Whipper Snapper, too.

Chalkboard and mixed media would be the two things that pop out at me right now. I know that mixed media has literally taken over my LSS and I love it! (it's taken over my craft room too!!)

I love all the trendy stuff, but who can afford it all? And guess what? Most people you are going to make a card for don't have a clue what's "in" or "out"! Making a beautiful card means pleasing the recipient and yourself. Buy and use what you love, and if it happens to be "in", that's icing on the cake!

Chalkboard art is huge, and sequins are all the rage on cards, too.
Whilst I have enjoyed looking at cards made using the chalkboard look, I wonder how long that style will be around? I haven't done the technique myself nor bought any of the block-sentiment-style of stamps that have been released as I wondered how many cards I would make and then tire of it:confused:.
I haven't seen sequins on cards but I would love it if anyone could add a couple of links to some. I have some sequins I inherited from my parent's haberdashery shop and would love to find a use for them

Take a look at the last day of uploads in the gallery (any day works). I don't think there is ever an in or out with things. There may be new, but new for one person may be new for another 6 months later. I'm so glad everyone likes different styles and products or else the gallery would be pretty boring. ;)

OK, I give. What is chalkboard? I have seen something where an image is stamped in white on black and then smudged so it looks like something has been written on an erased blackboard. Is this it or is it something using chalk inks?

Yeah, that look. I think you can get it using chalk inks. MME and Fancy Pants I think both have blackboard lines right now.

Now I'm confused as to what would be the need for a blackboard line if it is simply a stamping technique. What am I not getting here? Sorry to be so stupid.
