I stamp sitting down unless it's a big background stamp then I need that extra pressure so I stand up. Now, I am thinking of running the stamps through my CB machine. Thanks for sharing tips. I am 5'9" and slender.

I sit. I am 5'6 and too tall for my table made for a short Asian person (lol). No I am not kidding, my table was handmade for a shorter relative and was passed down to me. hehe

Hmm... although, I do punch standing up cos I find I need more pressure to punch. I think I've ruined my punches using super thick card that they're so blunt now.. hehe

For some things, I sit and for others, I stand. I have to think about it a minute...okay, if I am writing or coloring, I am sitting. If I need to do some placement task, I stand. I also stand when actually stamping the image *most of the time.*

I'm 5'6" tall. I can't blame it on the arrangement of my stamping furniture or the height of the worktop because it was built to my specifications.

It's just one of those things.

I'm very short and sit to stamp and do any crafting. My chair and table are adjusted for my lack of height so no need to be a jumping bean and stand....sit......stand......sit. I prefer to be comfortable when I craft. I encourage all the people I teach to sit also. Much less chance of something getting broken or damaged. If I ever do use a punch, I hold it in my hand. But who needs punches anymore when I have die cut machines?

I sit for the most part. I sit to stamp and colour and then I fiddle with the layout and embellishments sitting. I seem to always pop up and down to cut something with my dies or switch over to my sewing machine or whatever. So even if I'm sitting, I'm constantly leaning and reaching. I'm 5'10". So interesting to hear everyone's response!

I have an adjustable height desk and drafting chair...I sit and stand depending on the pressure I need...I am 5'6" and have back issues...

Have you seen the stamp press thing by Fiskars? I got it a JoAnn's (spring loaded in the corners), works great for BG stamps!

Interesting thread! I sit mainly and it's just because I stamp at a computer desk, if I had a counter I might stand some. I do stand when I'm cutting paper because I can see the numbers better from above and when I use my bog shot. The cutter and big shot also have their own desk so I just go stand and do what I need then come and sit back down.

I'd love to have a room with cabinets and counters so I could either sit or stand. And I'm all of 5 feet tall exactly so I'm a short stamper, lol!

well, it all depends LOL I am about 5'3 and if I am sitting on my tall stool, I can stamp sitting down. If not, then I have to stand. I also color at the same table I stamp on.

I'm short (5 feet something) and often stand to stamp but sit to color and assemble etc. I do stamp sitting but find I get better results if I stand (particularly with larger or more detailed images) + it's good for me to not be in one position too long.

Fun topic!

I'm 5'1" and sit to stamp but find I stand to line up my layers. I seem to get them straighter looking down on them. I also stand to stamp the BG stamps and the new punches.

I'm just shy of 5'9" I usually stand because I have a counter height work center. When my legs start feeling fatigued though I do have a bar-stool to lean against/sit on. I feel like I have a better perspective of my project when I'm standing.
When I'm beading however, I sit.

Something that helps me whether I'm sitting or standing is a back stretcher. It's a semi-circle padded thingy that you put on the floor. You sit with your tush just against the edge of it then lay down over it (for at least 5 minutes). It stretches your whole back out. On studio days I use it twice a day. It has really helped me a lot and my back doesn't get as tight as it used to which means I can work for longer stretches at a time.

Interesting thread. I'm 5'7 and I am up and down like I am doing aerobics...lol
I can't seem to sit for too long. I do color sitting tho- It's messy for me when standing. Usually I stamp standing, study what I am making standing, think while standing, glue standing, everything else sitting. LOL

Hi!
I'm 5'11", and I sit mostly because my work station is set up so I can sit and reach stuff. If my back is bothering me, or I'm shopping for colors and embellishments, I stand and walk around my space.

I share a corner of the family room, so I do have to move around to get supplies, but I do sit and color and write when I'm working on cards or pages.

I stamp sitting down mostly, unless I need to be extremely precise in placement.

I'm 5'3" and fat.

I stand to align pieces and glue them down, so I'll get better alignment.

And I bought a wonderful red foam pad from Archiver's to stamp on. It gives me better results than stamping directly on the marred and uneven surface of my crafting desk. (and it was only $4)

I am 5'2 (my all most 14 yr old dd is taller than me, thank goodness)

I sit and stand. Yep I do both. I only notice when My legs start to hurt if I am standing to long. I stand to cut paper and glue the card together. Seems I aim better and my layers are stright if I stand. I stamp images and color sitting down.

I thought I was the strange one cause when I have been to stamp clubs, I am the only one that stands to glue a card together. lol

5'10". Standing. At a kitchen island.

I will pull over a stool if I'm doing a lot of intensive coloring or detail cutting so that my back doesn't start to hurt from being hunched over for a few hours.

I'm 5'4" and I stand. I tried to sit, but found that I was always needing something that was just out of reach. I do have a bar stool in my craft room, by my daughter uses it when she stamps.

ETA that my husband makes fun of me because I stand when I'm making cards or scrapbooking, when I'm using my laptop for chatting, and when I'm on the phone. He says he doesn't know why we even have chairs in this house.

I'm 5'6", and I sit for everything except the actual pressing of the stamp to the paper. For that I almost always stand up. Unless it's a pretty small stamp - then I don't bother to get up.

I sit (have a good quality padded office chair that is adjustable) but stand to use my Big Shot, Tonic paper cutter and to get various supplies. I don't mind getting up and down, I figure the exercise is good for me! I'm 5'4".

I'm 5'6" and I sit.

I have an old office chair that is adjustable, rolls, and swivels. I took the back and arms off so it is more like a swiveling, rolling, adjustable stool. I stamp on a table in my craft room. The room has built in shelves so I can swivel around and reach almost everything without having to get up.

My mom is 5'9" and she sits to stamp, too. She built her own crafting space in her walk in closet. She made a corner table by installing a piece of wood that was a comfortable height for her while seated. Her space is much smaller and MUCH more organized than mine.

For me it depends on the stamp. If I'm stamping a small image or an acrylic image I sit down, but if I'm stamping something relatively large or medium size I stand up to put a little bit more pressure on the whole stamp.

I'm 5'4

I used to sit and craft only. But now I find myself standing more when creating. I only sit down when I'm using my Wizard or coloring. Or when I need to mask something- I find that works best when sitting.

I'm 5' 7".
