Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has some creative ways of attaching vellum cardstock. I've used brads, eyelets and some ribbon but is anyone stepping outside the box on this one?
Nothing really out of the box, but I've also used the 1/16" hole punch and made four holes, then stitched an X in the corner to hold it down. I also will sometimes use a spray adhesive (no Xyron) when I don't have a good place to hide adhesive behind a dark image. HTH!
There's always corner punches if you're going over the whole front.
Or put adhesive behind an image on the vellum..the image should "hide" the glue.
Fold 1/4 - 1/2" around to the back side of the card and run a line of tape to stick that flap to the back.
hmmmm....I know I've used more ways over the years...shoot, I even sat in on a vellum demo with PJ Dutton several years ago when she wrote her book on vellum for Design Originals. It's a sad thing when the memory goes...
I haven't done this yet, but you could sew with a sewing machine. Also, an old trick is to punch 2 holes top and center run a ribbon through and tie a bow - more for elegant type cards. Or get the slit punch. I've seen some really cute cards where they used the slit punch on both sides to have it hold the top image (your vellum). Or another idea - photo corners
The last card I made using vellum had a little vellum tag with a saying on it and I wanted to attach it to a cardstock tag base. I used wire and made some little curly q designs (kinda like a spiral clip) to attach it to the cardstock.
And of course spiral clips and if you are into the fads the latest are safety pins and office paper clips.
On other cards I have actually made the vellum wider than the card and folded it onto the back of the card and attached it on the back side of the card front.
Staples seem to be the big thing now, what about using them?? I haven't done it myself, but thought it sounded like it might be a good idea! Good luck!

Last time I used vellum, I stapled it to my card front. It was the first time I'd hopped on the staple bandwagon, but it was kinda cute. The card is in the toybox stamp set group, made by jae_b (aka - me)
There is a special adhesive made for velllum that comes in a small box rolled up and you cut the length you need thenuse like your bone folder and rub the adhesive onto your cardstck and then adhere your vellum. no see trough as long as you get the adhesive rubbed good enough. You can get it at most scrapbooking stores and maybe hobby lobby and micheals.

This is vellum adhesive tape - and it's what I mostly use! Although I hadn't thought of using the bone folder ... duh ... thanks for the hint.
If you have words printed on your vellum, dip your paper piercer onto your Versamark pad (so it won't stick), then use it to 'reshape' a glue dot into a long stringy snake thing (you know, like you do with play-doh). Then it can often fit under a word or two without being seen. This works really well with window sheets too!

This is called vellum tape...HTH

Reason: OOPS! I hadn't read ALL the posts
I have run my vellum thru the Xyron and adhered it to my card.
I've also used two glue dots at the top of the vellum, one in each corner and then adhered it to my paper. I then top the vellum, over the glue dots, with a small embellishment.
