50/50 is something that works for us since we both work decent jobs. However, 50/50 may not work for everyone, as you stated. Whatever works for you two is what works don't base your finances on someone else's because it will never work. I used to, and it always made me feel like a horrible person. Not anymore, I do what I can with my own income, and I'm proud of where I am in life

PolishGirl- I agree stamping has gotten so expensive. It is insane. Years ago it was a frugal hobby. Our most expensive purchases were stamps. I have gone back to the old school days in the way I stamp. Even if I could afford all those lovelives there is no way I am paying those prices. More lovelies for those who can or don't mind paying. I do understand the high expenses from a business point of view. Going back to my old ways of stamping I am happier. Just a better fit for my stamping personality.

Bohodiva- My home is set up like yours too. It's not for entertainment. It's for DH & I. We create and we set it up to create. We garden and it's set up to garden. It's our sanctuary. My friends don't mind. They are actually very supportive. Our group has always loved hanging out at diner's or the library meeting rooms (We are gamer's so we rent the meeting rooms). When my friends do come over it's like your home setup for a visit. My friends like it. My friends like to come over because they say our home is quiet and peaceful.

mphb- I am sorry. Sending you hugs.

Rebecca Ednie- Hugs to you too. I wish you were closer. You could hang out with me. I love it when my friends come over and hang out with me in my room just to hang out. I know how hard it is and isolating when you have disabled children. You love them but it is lonely and isolating.

MacungieMom- I loved your tips. I am going to throw a tip in too, if that is ok. Ladies don't buy items because you think you can't create without them. Buy that stamp because it inspires you not because you think it's the only way you can make an item. The marketing in this industry is just that, it's marketing. It's supposed to sell a product but not make you feel that if you don't have the product then you are less than. Aggressive marketing practices in all forms and in all sectors from medicine to crafting have made us creative sensitive types second guess our creativity and imagination. I turn off the marketing. Went down that rabbit hole, lol. Use marketing as an inspiration too to recreate with what you have, spend your money with what makes you want to use it over and over again.

Amen to everything DeeAnn said! I would especially second her thoughts on not letting marketing convince you that you NEED something. I can't tell you how many stamps I own that I am seriously considering purging even though the only time they've seen ink is when I stamped them for my index, all because I saw something cute or clever or wonderful that somebody else made! Did I love their project? Absolutely! Was it my style or a style that I'm likely to send to someone else? Not so much... We can admire what other people create without buying into the notion that we have to do likewise. Buy what you will USE - over and over and over again - because that will be where your joy lies.

When I really think about it I am a collector. I would not buy the same card over and over, but when you buy a stamp you feel like you have to use it a lot. So maybe I am a collector.

Absolutely only buy what will inspire you!! I'm an SU demonstrator, so if I were to purchase everything, I'd absolutely go broke! I only buy those sets, papers, embellishments, etc, that inspire me to design my projects, even for my class projects. I wouldn't have it any other way, and I never will.
