Default Cornish Heritage Farms......got carried away

Last week finally got around to ordering some things - 5 BG (barbed wire, paisley, burlap, rice paper and trees), Santa on a Bike (it is just the perfect stamp I had been looking for) & Lighthouse on a Hill (beautiful). Ordered late Monday & they were on my doorstep by Thurs at 2p!!! THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I would recommend this company to anyone. My DH was even impressed. His fav - the Trees!
Since I ordered all UM, also got the 5x7 acrylic block - very nice - & some 'smart cushion' for other UM rubber images I had gotten months ago. I have a few acrylic stamps but not crazy about them-they seem to 'smush' around the edges & not give a clean image so decided that I prefer the rubber (& UM).
I do love my SU stamps & don't know if I'll ever decide to put them on the 'smart cushion'....but am very tempted because I don't have a lot of space. thinking...thinking...thinking
Anyway, will be going back to Cornish Heritage for more.

I love my paisley bg stamp that I bought from them. Shipping was really quick to Canada.

I'm just waiting for my first order to arrive! It probably would have been here on Friday, but since there was a holiday I have to wait. I agree they're very quick to ship to Canada.

Very intriguing! I've been considering the same thing. Thanks for sharing about this company.

santakitty, how versatile would you say the trees backgrounder is? I fell in love with it when I first saw it, then when it got time to order I was worried the trees would look mostly creepy or halloweeny. and I am kicking myself kinda for not getting a 5x7 acrylic block; would you say that the block is fairly manageable to handle? so far i have just been lying the um stamp on its back and putting paper on top, and it's okay but not if i want to stamp multiple backgrounds on the same piece of paper.

I bought trees and used it on a background sized acrylic block. I have made 2 cards so far - with the first I was just trying it out and I had trouble getting coverage. On the second, I used the 'black amgic' technique which did turn out a bit halloweeny but very beautiful. I do not find the acrylic block awkward and this stamp is ver beautiful.

here are my 2 'trees' cards:

Mahloumel - I don't think the trees look creepy at all but are a nice compliment to some SU sets (eg. Lovely As A Tree, Autumn, Feathered Hope, etc). BUT I know there would be a way to make it 'creepy' if you wanted that look. Next on my list is their BAMBOO (looks like bones to me-good for Halloween), & Sunflower BG (excellent with SUs Provencal).

The 5x7 is , very managable, quite 'hefty' w/beveled edges on one side. Doesn't have the hourglass side like a lot of wood mounts but it is 11/16" thick so I can get a good grip with my big-old guy-hands. Like it enough that I'll pick up some of their other sizes.

HTH,
kitty

Wow, your cards are beautiful! I will have to revisit the Cornish website, I think. Thank you for your responses to my questions!

Default Yes..they are wonderful

I ordered three background stamps from them and when I received them, they had sent me ones to be mounted on wood and I prefer Smart Cushion (I did ask for that when I ordered). Well, I called them and they not only sent out replacements, but also a catalog and told me to share the ones that should be mounted on wood with a friend.

Needless to say I was thrilled to get the stamps I wanted and my friend was thrilled with the treat.

They are a fantastic company and I will be ordering from them again!

Hint: when ordering unmounted backgrounds from this company you actually don't NEED the acrylic block. Just peel off the plastic and slap that baby rubber side up on your table, ink, and place your cardstock on top. This company is owned by Richard and Liz Pomeroy and they are an amazing couple with outstanding customer service.

I am not so confident about my ability to place a 12x12 sheet of CS such that I can stamp the image in a repeating pattern on it. I'd rather be able to hold the stamp to do that.

Here's another 'trees' card - made for this week's technique challenge (poppin' pastels). I love this stamp - the only problem is that it is hard to cover it up once stamped!

Why, oh why did I go looking at their site? I was very conservative and now have over $100 in my shopping basket! I guess this is what happens when your DH leaves town for 2 weeks on business! Leave me home with 4 kids...:}

I think I need just about every stamp Northwoods has.

Here's the email I just got from them about the new monogram backgrounds -- hopefully they will be available soon along with some other new background stamps too!

"Thank you for your email – glad you like our backgrounders. The monograms are on their way. The first set – NOTHING FANCY MONOGRAMS (plain) - *are at the engravers being made into magnesium plates – we are just waiting for their return so that we can start producing. The monograms are card size – each letter is 4 ¾” high. Obviously the width varies from letter to letter but they ALL fit on a 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. PLUS we have several new backgrounders at the engravers also.

The FRENCH FANCY MONOGRAM set will hopefully be released in May."

You people will be the death of my budget! First someone here directed me to that site and I came up with a wish list as long as a freight train, but this stamp wasn't on it.

Now it is. Curses! Those are some gorgeous cards.
