Help! I'm new to stamping . While I have no trouble getting the ink off of SU stamps, others, esp. large ones, like D. Morgan; I have fits getting all the ink off. Anyone have any hints or suggestions? Thanks

I either spray them directly with the cleaning spray, or even faster and easier I stick them under running water in the sink and wash them with a scrub brush, drying them off immediately with a rag afterwards. Very easy

Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
I stamp off as much ink as I can on scratch paper, clean the stamp off with a moist baby wipe and dry it on a Stampin' Scrub. If there's any ink residue down in the stamp grooves, I spray it once with Stampin' Mist and scrub the stamp on the Stampin' Scrub again.
I save foam trays from things like chicken nuggets or something, and put wet hand towels in them for cleaning my stamps.
I have a couple that are pretty big and hold a hand towel folded in fourths.
My background stamps fit great in there and come clean with ease.
I went to Walmart and bought a paint edger by rubbermaid with a little knob type handle on the top of it. The paint edger is the same material as SU's stampin scrubs just white but it is not boxed in making it hard to scrub the big background stamps. So I mist the edger and scrub it across the stamp then wipe it clean with a baby wipe or on the second edger that I just bought. They are only $ 2.16 so you can't beat that and it works great.
I usually use the wet paper towel bit, but love the idea of the paint edger from Wal-Mart.And the price is right! Rather spend my money on stamps , than cleaning stuff. Love this site, so many helpful people and no one laughs at a dumb question. Thank you ladies
I am LOVING the Ultra Clean - I spritz it on my Scrub-It and just "Rub it and Scrub it" with the pad, followed up by a spritz of clean water and a paper towel to blot it dry. Works great! You can check out the before and after picture on my blog - it is a smaller stamp, but it works great on the large background ones too!
Love it! I have very small hands and it's hard enough handling my large SU background stamps to begin with. I'm going to "get me one of them!" Great solution for me - thanks!
I keep a small travel size hairspray bottle filled w/ water and a few old washclothes handy, as soon as I am done w/ a stamp I spray it w/ water and rub the ink off...Craft ink is actually the easiest to get off if you do it right away!
I have a Stampin' Scrub refill pad that I spray with Stampin' Mist and then I just hold that in my hand and rub it over the background stamp. It works great when trying to get craft ink out of a detailed stamp.

I run my background stamps under running water. The ink just washes right off. Then I dab with a paper towel and lie them flat on a couple paper towels to dry.

I love the idea of the paint edger for the large background stamps, I will have to get one of these, wooohoo... another good reason to go to walmart :-)

Hi. I use Mean Green cleaner - from Dollar General. I buy the big bottle for $2.00 and fill a little spray bottle. Spray your stamp and run over the cleaning pad. If it's big and detailed, I usually clean it under running water - with an old toothbrush to get in the grooves - after spraying with Mean Green,

I loved this idea but was stuck here at home with the Wally's near me closed.
Soooooo... I popped out the removable pieces from the SU stampin scrub, used the 'wet' side with stamp cleaner by holding it in my hand and rubbing it on the stamp that was facing up, rather than pushing the BG stamp down into the tray. Then I used the 'dry' side to dry it off using the same upside down technique. Voila! My stamp was clean so quickly and without me getting up to go to the sink!
I feel like I just made my life (my stampin life, that is) so much easier! Thanks to all for the tips!
I first wipe with a baby wipe. Then I spritz my edger (buy 2 for a dollar at dollar store) with water and wipe. Then I wipe with a dry edger. The edgers can be scrubbed in the sink and they last for years. I keep 1/2 dozen on hand.

Wow, who knew a baby wipe could do such a good job! When my kids were little, they weren't around. Found a tub of them at Target,used one, then spritzed with some water, and cleaned off on the rub and scrub . Found that at ac moore for 3.oo. Worked like a dream Thanks for all the hints!
I'm not sure if this is already on here, but... putting versamark on; letting it sit for a little; then, cleaning on stamp'n'scrub helps get stubborn ink off.
For bg stamps, I do this. I also have an old tooth brush in the bathroom drawer I use when ink is in the crevices. I also run them under running water. Works like a charm. I find that the bg stamps do not get clean in the SU stampin scrub so I use the other items.

Try using an electric toothbrush to clean your stamps. Takes out the manual labor, and you can spray the mist right on the stamp and turn on the toothbrush. It works like a cha rm.

I clean mine two different ways.
Depending on my mood for that day.
Lay your Big stamp on the it's back and then use a Soaked Terry towel (soaked with Simple Green mixture 20% simple green and 80% water.
Or I just spray the cleaner on and wipe it off.
With my Background stamps, I stamp off as much ink as I can, then spritz with Stampin' Mist and scrub with an old washcloth - dry with the dry part of the washcloth.
I never used to use my BG's much as they were such a pain to clean, but someone here suggested the washcloth method and now I use my BG's ALL THE TIME... so easy.
Just rinse well with water and toss in the wash when it gets too used.
Oh and the Ultra Clean - is the absolute best cleaning fluid I have ever used. OLD, black stains came off like magic - my stamps look brand new. I could not believe how well it worked.
I love my Stampin' Mist for dye ink - but for Basic Black, or Staz On or craft ink..... Ultra Clean is amazing.
I found mine on Ebay - a search should get it for you pretty quick and I know Inky Antics was carrying it and someone else said they found it at Archivers.
Great stuff...
I just use a drop of dish soap and scrub in the sink with a small nail brush. Rinse and lay rubber side down on a paper towel to dry. The dish soap also works well on bold stamps that have the manufacturing oils on them and tend to repel ink when they are new.
