Default Claret

Can anyone tell me which of the S.U. colors is closest to claret?? I have a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks and the colors are claret and silvery white. I wanted to make them a paint can to put a gift certificate in and a card.

I was thinking that, but the bridesmaid dresses looked more like a rose red. I am so confused!! When I look up claret on google it just shows me a real red color. I have no idea, but thanks for replying!!

I had claret bridesmaid dresses for my wedding, they were more a dark - rich red than burgundy..if that helps you any. I would go with real red or maybe rose red to be closest to the color. If anything you'd be in the color family. I think the burgundy would push it to the purplish side and not really fit in with the colors. Did that make sense?

Yep, that made sense to me, I went with rose red and the card turned out pretty good so I put it in my gallery. I think it will match their colors!!

Smile Beautiful Card!

Your card is truly lovely. Here is a link for our inquiring readers. Wedding Card
Don't worry if the color turns out to be a little different than the wedding dresses. Claret is one of those colors [like Garnet or Cranberry] that gets redefined every year or two by Paris, London and New York. They hope we will buy new clothes if they give a new name to the same colors.

There is a new cranberry color that is coming out in the new catty. Maybe that will be the closest if you can wait until July. We don't have any samples of it yet, but your demonstrator should have the write-up in her May stamping success magazine.
