Default Chipboard vs. Matboard

Just wondering, are these the same things?

If they are different, what do you prefer?

Thanks!

I find chipboard harder to cut than matboard -- it's pretty dense. also, I've never found chipboard in anything but kraft brown, unlike matboard which comes in zillions of colors and textures...

HTH,
Betsy

Betsy, I think you may have the two confused b/c I cut chipboard w/my 12" Fiskars cutter that's in the SU catty. Matboard is much, much thicker than chipboard & for that to be cut nice, neat & easy you need a matboard cutter.

LOL, Kim, confusion is always the most likely answer for me! Perhaps what I'm thinking of is bookboard? I know when I got it it was at an art supply store and came in a HUGE sheet, measuring in feet, not inches! Very tough stuff...

Thanks,
Betsy
