Default Challenges?

I've seen the daily challenges, but are other challenges allowed on this site? Like, posting a certain kind of challenge...tag challenge, masc. challenge, etc. The hostess gives a simple prize. Everyone posts in their gallery and provides a link in the org. challenge thread. All entrants are put into a hat and a name is drawn for the prize...that way noone is offended thinking their work was the best!!! So what do you think? Is this allowed? Another site I used to be on did a lot of them and it was fun to keep inspired! The challenge runs for a week, or whatever is deemed necessary to get ample entries!! I'm now a scs addict and don't go anywhere else!
Thanks...

Anyone else have any ideas on this? I think it would be fun...this is the only thing I miss from the other site! Thanks!

Default challenges

I think this is a great idea! Go for it. I remember this going on on Two Peas and it seemed to work really well.
Love it.

Sounds cool to me.
I'd be willing to take up such a challenge now and then!

Istead of posting them, I suggest that the cards are mailed to the hostess to collect and then donated to:

Monicas cards for troops
9225 SOLDIER RD.
FORT BELVOIR,VA 22060

the above comes from a request by stampin2day4ever. Here's the link:

The hostess would then be responsible for the small prize drawing. To avoid possible problems, it might be a good idea to define what a small prize is in advance. JMO.

That sounds like a nice idea.
But wouldn't that cost the challenge hostess a bundle?

I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking.

Besides, I would like to see all the entries too!

Phew, I was afraid I had done something wrong! Noone responded!!!!

They are fun! I want to do one, but not for a few weeks when things calm down here a bit! (I'm a Fall/Winter stamper....after the gardens diedown!) Just wanted to make sure it could be done here so I was getting hyped up in vain.

The few I participated in went like this: the hostess sets up the rules, what the challenge is and when the deadline is. Also gives some hints as to what the prize is. For ex. a tag challenge, the prize was a bunch of fibers, tags, rings. Nothing expenive but just fun things. They usually ran a week or so. Gave everyone ample time to get creative and work around busy schedules. This is not talent based, all names are put in a hat and drawn. Then posted as soon as possible after the challenge ends. Prizes sent out in timely manner also.
Trying to think of other things but my 15 mo old is awake and ready to go.
As far as giving the cards to the troops, this would be a personal preference that each can contribute to if they wish, and/or based on what the hostess would like to do.
Anyways...hopefully in October I should be able to get one going. Anyone else before then...feel free for sure!!!!

Happy I love Julie week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
