Stacy, she has decided on a school. It's 2 hours away. She likes the idea of being further away than her brother. 4 more weeks and she will be a high school graduate!

Thanks, Stacy, for mentioning this week's IC site. You know, with these inspiration sites, I could go back forever and find so many things to inspire me and never run out.

that's still a good driving distance though for you all so that is nice

Hubs has packed up his camper and has left to go turkey hunting and won't be home until late tomorrow night, and its all I can do to keep my eyelids up. ( it's not even dark here yet) hahahaha... ( I had such big plans to finish my Teapot card tonight ) but, not being a night owl it will probably be waiting until tomorrow morning.

Trying a link since I'm on the PC - today's Featured Stamper is nannygirl/Nancy.

Well, the link is working, at least, but it's not formatting nicely. Grrr.

Thanks Sabrina for linking our challenge! Our house is down with ...something. It's taking different forms with all of us so I went to bed early last night.

I LOVE Nancy's gallery! I always enjoy seeing her cards. Her art space is fun too!

So Nancy loves coloring "Girls" so that is what will spark my questions today.

Did you draw girls when you were young? I did! I spent every free moment (when I wasn't reading) drawing girls in different outfits!

Do you have a collection of "girls" stamps? I do. I started with the Julie Nutting dolls but I only have a few of them.

Angie Girls by Angie Blom at Unity became my next obsession but I recently looked at my collection and I don't ahve as many as I thought I did. I love them all though.

I have a growing collection of Picket Fence Girls. Almost every one of them make me think of my daughter so you know I love creating with them!

I also have two girls from Impression Obsession. I have a feeling that will be a growing collection. They are so much fun to color!

Now tell us about your collections!

Nope, I didn't ever draw girls. Never, not ever.

I have a couple of the Unity ones but I'm not a "no faces" person, so I think I only have two of the Angie girls, one that came in a kit and one that I bought as a standalone. I have more of the Phyllis Harris sweeties, and the other girl stamps I have are a small range of are the now out of business Rubber Romance ones. They're such fun for paper piecing - except the one in the bath .

I never drew girls either. I had a friend who sent me some of Julie Nuttings prima dolls that were cute and I colored them and put on a few cards, but dolls just aren't my style.

Misti!! No people stamps. And I thought I was short in them compared to others (till I started getting the Phyllis Harris ones).

Not going to try linking from my phone but there's a link to the TLC forum in my signature. Karen's TLC is "merging backgrounds", using two different background stamps, one for half the front of your card, and the other for the other half. Sounds like fun with all sorts of possibilities, but I certainly won't get to it today .

I do like the Phyllis Harris people. I think that’s Stacy’s fault! Stacy posted a card a long time ago that sent me looking at them. They weren’t on my radar before then.

nope, I drew trees and I always had a circle that I colored black that my birds lived in... (did not draw birds but sometimes V's in the sky) ha ha funny I had forgotten this.

I ah started with some stamping bella chicks you know the ones that had the skinniest chins that were nearly impossible to color and stay in the lines? those ones and then I branched out, found Rubber Romance Diva's which had more room to color, then later I did end up with a bunch of Fantasy people girls/mermaids/fairys that I used for ren faire booths. and somewhere around then the Unity gals started coming out so, I have quite a few of the Phyllis Harris section and some of the grown up girls too.

Okay, Okay, I have a lot of stamps. (because, I do not draw I doodle)

The color combo challenge is up and there are some gorgeous Floral cards being loaded for it so far.

I never drew girls as a kid but I did draw clothes - outfits for girls : ) .When I first started with this craft I had lots of vintage girls and women. Then I moved into the cute Pure Innocence girls from SNSS when we had lots of little kids in our family. Left those behind for Phyllis Harris images, and my now favorites are from Impression Obsession, espcially the girl's that Dina designs!

The Teapot Challenge is up! The destination is one another!

The color challenge is also up and it's pretty!

Questions for the day:

Have you ever walked or rode in a parade?
My daughter was in one with her dance school and they stopped and performed one of the dances so we sort of walked along side and gave out candy.
Do you have any parade stamps? (you don't have to have a parade stamp to play along with the Teapot Challenge)
I do not have any parade stamps but I have seen some cute ones.

No crafting (we moved from NY to SC last fall and are moving into a house just before Memorial Day weekend!) but the drawing question reminded me of a stamp I have owned for years. It says "I rubber stamp because I can't draw" Had to have it gexausebut's true LOL.

TeeGeeDee, I can't draw, either. Guess that is why I have sooooooo many stamps.
Yes, Angie, I have ridden in a parade float as a cheerleader and maybe as something else....kind of forgotten so I won't mention that.

Thanks for the good wishes. We planned a long time to be able to relocate to SC and our hardwork is paying off a little sooner than hoped for ☺

I've been following this thread for awhile to have some crafty inspiration (for when my supplies are out of storage/unpacked).

I mostly lurk but really enjoy keeping up with the chat.

No on the real life parade. The main ones here would be the ones on St Patrick's Day. I think DH has been in one of those a couple of times. In Northern Ireland there are more marching bands and parades, but they're mostly more political.

I used a Penny Black stamp with a little marching band for my card yesterday, but if I hadn't had that I think I could have turned my Musical Chicks from Your Next Stamp into a fun parade.

Today's sketch challenge looks as if it would be a fun one for having a focal point sentiment and a nice make-your-own background with a couple of die-cut borders. I'll try linking but if I get the dread error I'll just delete it.

Sketch Challenge 747 {5/01/19} - Splitcoaststampers

Yay, no error today. But an intermittent bug is pretty frustrating.

Lisa's WTUI challenge today is using stencils, any way you like.

WT738 - Stencils - Splitcoaststampers

I made two cards with the same stencil...and the same ink, so I was amazed to see how different the colours came out.

Ohhh! Ahhh! Stencils!! What a fun challenge!

Did you post them Sabrina? I will check.

***
Ok so the question is stencils.
Do you use them?
What is your favorite technique?

I do use them and I am beginning to use them more.
So far I mostly brush Distress Inks with a stencil for backgrounds but I would like to try some other techniques.

I love stencils. I really need to use them more. The last set I bought were Martha Stewart and I didn't realize they were adhesive backed! Perfect to watercolor because the color doesn't run under the stencil. And I used the same one twice already and still sticky!

oh really? ( who knew?) I have a spray can of adhesive I use on my stencils, I have not seen any that came that way, but mostly I use tape with mine because, taking it outside to spray it tends to add to the time

I do use them but, not as much as I did years ago. I still have a pile of small brass ones where the thing was to dab in some color then smoosh in some clear paste and sprinkle on glitter. ( remember doing that?) now, I think you can buy a million colors of paste. but, I tend to resist because, my big jars of paste turned into bricks before I could use it all up.

Plus the fact that can can add color to the white stuff and make any color you want....and I didn't know about the adhesive backed stencils either! It was a happy surprise when I bought it.

I still have a big stash of the brass stencils. I also used to do that same technique, Stacy...and also had jars of paste turn to brick! I used those brass stencils often for dry embossing with a light box, way before embossing folders and die cutting/embossing machines appeared. Now I mainly use my growing collection of plastic stencils, most often sponging or brushing on Distress or Oxide inks.

I use them a lot. I go through most of my box when I pull everything downstairs for a gel print session. I like them for backgrounds with inks or paint, I like them for texture with pastes and gels. Lots more ways I like them, but I have a bath running!!

I've tried spray-mount on the back of a couple but they didn't really stick. I've seen a glue, some time I might get it and see if it works better.

I love stencils when I think to use them, pretty much always with Distress or Distress Oxide inks. But I don’t think to use them often. I did get really hooked on the Stacked Stencils technique when Dina introduced it to us. It’s so fun!

Nice early challenge posts today...
Dawn's F4A is to capture a memory: F4A480... Memories Captured

Mari-Lynn's MIXed media challenge is all about twos...she has a list of twos, and we are to use two of them: It is all about TWOS- MIX327 (5-3-19)

If I were to capture a memory I think I'd make a card to remember our visits to Monet's garden last year, when we were lucky enough to go both in April and October. I'll have to think about Mari-Lynn's list, and see how time works out. I may have to work late today.

And bummer, the curse of the division error has struck again. I didn't even test the links first because they worked the last two times . Sorry, that was meant to be an edit, not a quote. I guess I was too frustrated to click the right button.

That would be really pretty Sabrina, I hope you get the chance to play. I would love to see your memory of Monet's gardens!

Anyone else? What memory would you capture?

Also MariLynn's challenge looks fun and her card is so sweet!

Oh well, I don't think I'll get as far as the flower card. I'd get lost down a rabbit hole looking at all the photos to get inspired . And I'm not arty enough to make something that would be specifically Giverny and not just flowers...

I have got one made for MariLynn's, though - I got my overtime finished earlier than I expected. Now I need to tidy my desk.
