You're telling me. It's not just yours, I'm having the same problem with others and with my own links, and it's really frustrating when I try to add a link to the challenge in my uploads. I'm glad Angie thinks it's happened to her too.

No work today... I'll go in tomorrow so the week isn't totally a write-off.

Yes, this happens to me quite often while on my smart phone, especially late at night when it's first posted.

Sabrina, I've seen a weird code when clicking a link too. It seems to happen right after the link is posted.

Carla, you are a hoot!

*************

We have challenges for you today!!
First up:
F4AA67 is I might use that someday! Wow, I imagine most of us can get behind this challenge!
What is the first thing you thought of when you read, "I might use that someday". My first thought was the box of scraps I have from my very early days with my big shot. I am not sure I could put them in a pleasing order but I might throw something together just for fun!

The MIX is up!!! Lydia has us playing with a "new to me" medium, Gouache. She has created a gorgeous sample for us. BEST of all if we don't have Gouache she tells us how to create our own MIX!

Raise your hand if you have Guache!

I do not but I certainly could make a MIX and then combine with scraps. Hmmm...the beginning of a plan!

Last but not least The Fan Club Christmas challenge is up!

Happy Friday everyone!

We are headed to College Station for a weekend archery tournament. I’m so glad these challenges are posted, I will let the ideas mull around, stamp images in the morning to take with me. Angie, thanks for putting in the Fan Club Christmas card Challenge, I forget about it. I’ve already got an idea in mind for it! The 30 Day Coloring Challenge starts today too.

Mulling time is always a bonus. That's why I like the lead-time hostesses get for some challenges (plus otherwise I probably couldn't fit as many into my schedule), but conversely the MIX is one of my favourite challenges because I am coming to it as unknown.

I do have gouache. There are very few mediums I don't have some of tucked away from the days I worked in import and distribution of fine art supplies. The one thing I never did get which I really wanted was the full 48 set of the beautiful French watercolour pencils, because they were always in short supply. But as I am currently sitting on the bus dragging myself into work, I'm not sure I'll get to play. I suspect bed is on the horizon straight after work today. Then my boss doesn't have me rostered in till next Wednesday so that gives me more recovery time

It was snowing lightly as I left the house.

Sabrina, good luck at work. I'm glad you have a nice long weekend to recuperate some more.
This Free for All is for me. I might use that someday is my motto for sure! I've got boxes and drawers of goodies to go dig through.
But I've just experienced that funky link glitch that you've all been talking about. I simply cannot get into the MIX challenge. And I have no idea what gouache is, so I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow...

Yay, Misti! So glad the linked challenges are helpful! Good luck at the tournament!!

Sabrina, so very sorry you are having to go to work still so ill but hopefully the weekend will be just what you need to get your strength back fully!

Aw. Jennifer, I am so sad you couldn't get into the MIX.

I do believe I will get busy on the Inspiration Challenge card. I only picked dozens of photos to inspire me! LOL My hint is .......it's a huge site! Yeah, not helpful, I know.
I will be back around 11ish EST and post the link!

Were you not able to get in simply by going to the challenge forum? The links are handy for sure, but there are always other ways of hopping round the forum.

Sabrina, don't overdo it at work!

I was supposed to be out this afternoon but my friend had to cancel so I've got lots of crafting time today. I love the Free for All challenge as I have a whole box of pieces I might use on Christmas cards and another whole box for non-Christmas cards! I've just posted a Christmas one for it. And might do another one. Or make it a personal goal to make one card a week out of my unused bits!

I clicked on this at work during lunch today as a "onestopshopping" for ideas of the challenges I have been missing...
I was three pages behind ha ha ha.

( I am still sorting stamps which, I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...) but, its still continuing. I just make a hole in the center of the table to do IC samples and have not made a single thing the last few weeks besides those. so, it was fun to come up for air.

I have tried to art journal but, I have this mental thing of "finishing" things, so it seems odd to leave the pieces in the book. so, every time I try it I do not stick with it past a week if its a daily thing.

Sabrina, I feel sad for you trudging into work when you're still trying to recover; this must have been a really crumby bug : ( I'm glad you have several days to continue getting well after your day at work.

The Free For All is probably perfect for most of us today - I have multiple "stashes" in my room that I could look through; I may have to do more than one card!

I did the MIX, using the instructions for those who do not have gouache - it was fun and the results are pretty, but wow, are my hands a mess! I should have put on gloves!

It was a nice easy day in work, thankfully. But I came home and slept most of the afternoon, just setting my alarm to keep an eye on things during my gallery mod shift. I'm planning to visit my sister tomorrow, so no stamping till Sunday at the earliest. I haven't even been upstairs to see what gouache I have.
Have a good weekend, everybody.

The Inspiration Challenge is up - it's a wonderful poster site with so many different ideas!

I got a Free for All done today but no time for the Mixability challenge because I got distracted sorting out my boxes of "UFOs" (unfinished objects) - so many backgrounds, so many die cuts, so many images stamped but not coloured!! I'm trying to toss some!

Susan thanks for posting the IC!

I created two cards for the IC this week. For one of the cards I combined the MIX and made my own Gouache! That was fun! I also used the polka dot challenge for that card.

If you stop by my penguin card check out the staging. My husband gave me those at Christmas for staging cards. I think it looks like ice, perfect for winter card photos! It melted my heart that my husband would shop in a store he can't stand just to give me something he knows I am always on the lookout for (inexpensive staging props).

Stacy, I love that, "one-stop-challenge-shopping"!!!

Links:
I had a terrible time linking my card to the challenges today.

I am not 100% sure what is happening but it seems like maybe I am moving too fast for it to keep up? For anyone else having trouble with links see if waiting a few seconds to submit after linking?

I have NO idea if that is a thing or not but I have noticed it takes my links if I slow down. That could be my wifi though and unique to me.

Yay! Thank you so much to Misti and Susan. I ran to the end of myself last night and could not do one more thing!

It's a New day though!

So we have color blocking and faux pressed flowers on the table today!

What is your favorite way to color block?
I love viewing watercolored color blocks but I am never happy when I do it. Maybe I need a different sized brush? My lines are always uneven and it looks crooked. I see other designs and their lines are not perfectly straight but they don't look crooked to me. I don't know what I am doing wrong with that.

I have never tried faux pressed flowers. How about you? I need to check out my EF and see if I have any grid type folders.

Have fun on this winter Monday!

Sorry for being MIA - still trying to recover energy and oomph. I knew I was pushing it visiting my sister on Saturday...in the end I had to ask DH to come and pick me up earlier than we'd agreed.

I knew I had the perfect image for Teapot Tuesday - Snoopy with a school bus . And even the sentiment in it works, because it's got a flat tyre so my message inside is a thank-you for all the lives that Curtis has made less flat with his kindness.
Now it's back to trying to keep on top of upcoming samples before I go back to work tomorrow. This week has a little bit of overtime, too; not that it will go near helping me recoup all the days I lost through the flu.

Sabrina, it takes a long time to get back to normal after the flu. I hope you are able to get your samples done. We miss you!!!

Did I lead anyone astray?

Thanks, Misti for posting the Sketch Challenge!

Banners are a focal point of this sketch.

Are you a banner lover?

I love them, I just forget to use them.

I like banners too, and like you I forget to use them. The dies I have are all on the smaller side, more suitable for sentiments or small decorative details. Maybe some time I'll have spare budget to invest in a larger set. The MFT fishtail ones were nice but I have a feeling they may be discontinued.

Lisa's WT is all about tissues. Thankfully I didn't need too many with the 'flu , no cold symptoms at all with it; one small mercy to be thankful for. I was able to get much of my sample made in bed, though I had to abandon plan A, which was to make wire leaves and cover them with tissue.

Lisa has linked a lot of great tutorials for us to use in her challenge this week! Sabrina linked it above!

Have fun! I am out all day today so I am not sure I will get to play along with this one.

How will you use tissue?
I would LOVE to use a new to me (retired) MFT "get well" die set which includes a tissue box! Maybe later!

Hugs and have a crafty day!

It's been a busy week but I got something (a Christmas card, needless to say!) posted for Ways to Use It. Now want to get a few Valentine cards made - might use some tissue for one of those and post it when I get it done.

Sabrina, I hope you've fully recovered by now!

Not fully recovered, still recovering. I slept almost all afternoon and evening on Wednesday. The only crafting I managed was to stamp and cut out a couple of masks. Yesterday wasn't any better, I didn't get upstairs at all except to make sure DH had space to work at my desk for an hour. So I'm not holding out much hope for the MIX today, especially as I don't need love/heart themed projects. And my boss is out for the day so I have a heavier workload as I'll be covering for her in the lab.

The MIX is mixed media with a love/heart theme: mix315 mixed media love 2 8 19 a t627947.html

And the Free for All is Wild Animals.... that should be a fun one. f4a468 02 08 19 wild animals t627946.html

This week's MIX challenge is all about LOVE.

Do you prefer to create cards with hearts in traditional colors or do you like to spice it up with non-traditional colors?

Wild animals are the challenge for the Free for All. Do you have a stamp that jumps to mind when you read WILD ANIMALS? I have a zebra stamp I haven't inked up. I am going to try and do that and then I will have participated in day 8 of the 30 Coloring Challenge!

I prefer not to create cards with hearts unless it's for a challenge or a wedding card. I prefer non-traditional colours though I don't mind deep pink or red for small hearts. I did think of a suitable stamp I could use for Jeanne's challenge, but with all the stamping time I've missed out on over the last two weeks, my priority is making cards I need to send this month. So I'll see how tomorrow goes...

I think my favourite wild animal stamps in my collection are the ones in SU's Wild About You. But I did recently get Animal Outing and would like to manage to finally ink it up, it feels as if it's been on my desk for ages. I don't think I have any tigers, and all my lions are really cute ones.

Lions and tigers and leopards - oh my! I have two lovely stamps from CHF that spring immediately to mind if somebody says “wild animals” - a pair of lions and a leopard (heads only) and a beautiful sleeping tiger from Beeswax that I’m ashamed to say I’ve only used once (for Janine’s challenge in the last DTGD - here). Of course the CHF stamps are sadly no longer available but Beeswax still seems to be going strong. If my craft room had been a bit warmer today I might well have played with one of those since I did have some free time but it’s very windy and chilly here so I’ve sat by the fire with a novel instead!

Hope you continue to feel a bit better day by day Sabrina, it sounds a real humdinger of a bug.

Joanne your day sounds lovely!! It's been a while since I have spent a few hours reading. Your Tiger card is stunning. I usually try and see as many DTGD cards as I can but I somehow missed it.

Sabrina, I hope you feel stronger and stronger.

I did get the chance to ink up my zebra and posted it in the Free For All Gallery.

I had a great "at home" day and got cards made for both of today's challenges. At first I thought I had no wild animal stamps (because I was thinking of tigers, elephants, zebras, etc.) but then I thought that, of course, deer and reindeer are wild animals so I posted a Christmas card (big surprise!).

And I did a mixed media Valentine - lots of fun. Angela, to answer your question, I make pretty traditional Valentines - red, pink, hearts - with the exception of the one blue Valentine that I pointed out in this thread a while back.

Now I'm going to do an hour's worth of organizing of my dies!
