I don't use a lot of apps. Just my browser, YouTube, and email.I play spider solitaire on my PC but I don't have it on my devices.

I know!!! And then my sweet boy called me 4 hours after I got to bed. It's ok to keep weird artist hours if you don't have to turn around and be up in 4 hours!

I was packaging up another gift and trying to write out some Christmas cards. Had another fail on a watercolor card I am trying to do ...it all takes TIME!

Also apparently at 4:15 this morning there was an earthquake in TN with aftershocks that shook beds all the way down here. I slept right through it though. LOL

Here's my question for the day:
Who has all of their Christmas cards in the mail?

I seem to be slow this year in the Christmas Card category. The fronts are finished, but not the insides. I need to get an updated address as my brother moved. Life is just busy and these will take a bit of time.

In the meantime, I keep looking at the challenges and would rather make something new than finish what needs to get done. My family doesn't care, though. The recipients care, but not my husband or girls.

US, Canada, Africa, Australia and Europe are all mailed, one UK one still needs me to find time to write a note to go in it. Irish ones all have addressed envelopes and I'm planning to write them this evening. I've only been home for fifteen minutes today so I might as well "write off" the evening too . I still have one or two special family cards to make, but DH is delivering his mother's book card this evening and the special I made last night went postal in a package today.

In answer to Angie's question, I have mailed most of my cards that have to go overseas (just need to do 2 more), then will start on the ones to the USA, and then eastern Canada, and then finally the ones in my area! I make and mail, make and mail....

I'm grateful my fundraiser was such a success and I sold nearly every card I'd made all year, but it sure makes it hard now! I'm raiding my UFO box for pieces that can help speed up the process!

On top of it, Canada had some rotating postal strikes so that has caused a backlog, meaning cards could be late arriving even if mailed by the deadline!

Mine were all mailed last week. All but the one for my niece, and that one went out yesterday.

Carla is the Ways To Use It hostess today with WT718 ~ Pretty Packages - Splitcoaststampers. She alesal finds the best images to make her challenges look wonderful!

I'm not a huge fan of 3D projects. Actually I love making them but have very little use for them and don't like to see them sitting gathering dust and fading, so usually only make them if I have a reason. But I'll put chocolates or soap into the bag I made for this challenge, and I know who I'll give it to.

I'm with you, Sabrina - I don't need to make a little box or package, so might make a tag for TLC if I have time tomorrow. Or I'll just skip the challenge.

So very glad you posted the challenge, Sabrina! I even looked before I went to bed and saw it but forgot to post it!

I don't create very many 3D projects but when I do I feel very accomplished.

Anita is very good with 3d! Love her stuff! I adore all 3d. I subscribe to pootles and positively paper craft and Linda parker because they share a lot of 3d stuff and always Do a great job with their tutorials. Just recently, Ann (positively paper craft) did a fun star top box that was easy to follow! I've made two. I also followed Anita's directions for a tall star box. I never posted a picture! Guess I had better do that before I fill it with goodies and give it away!

I’m working on vsn cards... made an absolute mess all over my hands trying to make the sample for “my” challenge. Mine is the first one at 5pm est. Couldn’t decide what I wanted to do for my card & just this morning in the wee hours had a lightbulb moment... waited until we got home from practice to work on it... ummm... I didn’t realize I was out of an item to create the card... so I substituted... and got more ink on my fingers than I did on the paper!!

No time at all for crafting today. Baked two batches of shortbread, went for a long walk with my dog, ran some errands, and wrote and mailed a bunch of Christmas cards. Need to make some more so Friday’s challenge is perfect!

The MIX is up and it's going to help us finish off our Christmas cards. Our SCS hostesses are so helpful!! If you are done with Christmas you can make a winter card with the help of this challenge.

Save room in your schedule for VSN this weekend!!! The first challenge goes live at 5 PM EST tonight! Holiday stories are the theme and I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

I've just been catching up on this fun thread. We have lots of bird feeders in our yard and love watching the wide variety we get here in Michigan. Even the bluebirds have stayed this Winter! We also battle the squirrels, but put peanuts out for them and the blue Jays.
I do not enjoy mass producing cards at all- I get bored very easily, but that challenge did get me some needed additional cards completed. I also don't do many 3D projects but love seeing what others do. I agree, Anita makes such interesting 3D cards.
I did two different snowman cards for today's challenges, finishing up the Christmas cards I needed. Most of mine got mailed out this week.
Am I the only person who enjoys continuing to make Christmas cards in December and tucking them aside for the next year? Or are most of you thoroughly tired of making Christmas cards? I find that the holiday spirit keeps me enjoying working with my (way too many) Christmas and Winter themed stamps.

This year, I'm behind in getting my Christmas cards out. I've been mailing them out as I get them made. Already, planning to make sure this doesn't happen again next year.

I love making Christmas cards so make them year round. Also I need about 100 for the fundraiser I do at the end of November, plus my own to mail out. And I agree, I find the holiday spirit makes me really happy to keep making them over the Christmas / New Year period. And I agree, I have way too many Christmas and winter stamps!

Oh, I definitely keep making them, even after I get mine mailed ( which I have not)

It's just easier at this time of year
so, some of what I make this weekend during VSN may go out in the mail this year, and some may be the seed for next year.

I agree about Christmas card making. I make them all year long. I actually could use more Christmas stamps. It's COLD here right now so I would rather create cards with flowers, butterflies and sunshine to keep me warm but I still enjoy creating Christmas.

Claudia, how fun for you that the bluebirds have stayed! We are having so much fun watching our birds. We had 6 male cardinals at the feeders this afternoon! 6! The wives were here as well.

The Inspiration Challenge is up and Stacy has found us a treasure trove of inspiration!! The next time you can't think of what to create you might want to try putting something in the search box at Shutterstock and see what inspires you!

So what do you do when your creativity dries up?

Ang I can feel you mentally clicking the LIKE button LOL. In answer to your question (my world is always the right side up when you ask a question) I duplicate a card I have already made - same image, same colours, same medium, same everything. Ohhhhh Ang I just felt you click the LIKE button hehehe.

I do make Christmas cards all year. I think I took part in the ongoing Christmas challenge for two years but since I never followed the suggested themes, I gave up four or five years ago and just self-motivate for a target of four a month. That and making them for a few challenges gives me the sixty/seventy I need. But I do find it hard making them again in Jan and Dec; after that July is the hardest month but there are usually a few "Christmas in July" challenges to help me over that hurdle.

When creativity dries up? I make a card anyway , usinguup odds and ends on my desk. Or colour a really detailed image, but the problem then is that starting with a coloured image isn't my normal process, I still have a couple I coloured when I was sick last Christmas waiting to be used.

Consider your post liked, Susie. I was even trying to unlike some last night but that didn't seem to be working.

I hit the like button on one post in the IC last night and it marked me as liking them all. ( so, its hard to tell where I left off in the thread, my guess is this thread is doing the same thing if you liked one thing somewhere it's just auto filled it on and on)

when I do not have a deadline to make something I need or want, I usually either cut my scraps up with dies or I color images and set them aside.

and more often than not, while I am doing that a card will come about from the piles I made and so. Sometimes its not the best card but, it burns off the dust I guess so the next one tends to be better and so on.

who all is playing in the VSN this weekend? ( I still have two from last night to do)

Good morning!

All of this talk about making Christmas cards in December makes me giggle. I ALWAYS have to finish up my stash in these final weeks, but this year I am further behind then ever. I make about 12 of each design, so there is some mass production, but not enough to bore me.

2 of my hostess samples for VSN will be duplicated (I hope) later this week; one already has been. I am just grateful that our tradition is to start the 12 Days of Christmas on Dec 25, so I still have time!!

I definitely make Christmas cards all year. I usually get something new for Christmas that I just have to try out after Christmas. I make most of my Christmas cards in July, Aug, and Sept at the cottage. Obviously I was made to live in Australia where is can be 30 C at Christmas because that's what it often is when I am colouring in snowmen!

LOL Susie, you are right, I am mentally clicking the LIKE buttons!

Loved everyone's ideas on jumpstarting mojo!

I would love to play in the VSN but I spent my day volunteering and I am wiped. My husband told me not to because he was worried about my back and I have to say it is not happy tonight.

I am off to check and see what everyone has done with the Inspiration Challenge this week and I hope to pop by VSN and see what everyone is creating.

Sabrina, I followed along with the Christmas challenge twice. It was fun to have such a large stack of cards done but after that, I had trouble fitting them in.

Our Featured Stamper this week is Di! I always love seeing her cards in the galleries. I hope you get the chance to play!

I hope you will browse the VSN Master List! The challenges are wonderful! Oh for a bit more time!!! I have borrowed all the time from sleep hours I can and can't squeeze in another thing but the challenges are brilliant.

So this isn't a crafting question but this question is inspired by Michelle's VSN challenge. She posted a book cover called Skipping Christmas by John Grisham. I didn't care for the movie they made inspired by the book but I would love to read the book by Grisham. He is such a good story teller. How about you? If you were given the next few hours free and told the only thing you could do with those
hours was read, which book that you have NOT read would you choose?
