Oh my! I love today's color challenge. It's a beauty!

We are playing Mad Libs for our Teapot recipient today!

Questions! Questions! I have questions today.

First, do you prefer pink or blue?

Second, Can you remember the last time you played Mad Libs? (excluding today) Can you remember who you were with or what the theme of the Mad Libs?

I say I prefer pink, because I love pink. But I swoon at every blue card I see. So do I prefer pink to blue? I don't know.

I should remember the Mad Libs because it wasn't all that long ago but I really can't remember what the theme was. I do know that I was my family of four.

No hesitation on my part in answering your question, Angie - blue wins by a mile as not only my favourite colour but also as a real preference over pink. So I was thrilled with today's Color Challenge!

Blue hands down. But mostly softer, lighter blues, not the hard cold ones. Blueprint Sketch is probably my least used DOX. I was never into pink, I probably still have some pink stiff left from 16 years ago when I minded my friend's 3 year old daughter in the afternoons vehicle she was away for 3 months. Anna was very definitely a pink girl, and there e two afternoons a week we did crafty stuff. I very briefly had s pink bedroom but only because my sister and decided to pool our resources and sleep in her room and have mine as our "day room". I think mine was dove grey and crimson at the time.

A nice simple sketch is up, with a bias towards Valentine's though of course you could change up the heart.

Oh, and I'd never heard of Mad Libs but we definitely used to play something similar as a family, Consequences. You start with a long strip of paper and each person writes a name at the top of it and folds it over so that it can't be seen, and passes it to the next person. You add to it in turn so that at the end it reads X met Y in/at.... He said to her....she said to him...and the consequence was that...I doubt if I've played it since the Seventies, I never met anyone else who knew it.

Oh! The sketch is pretty! I will have to use that one soon!

We spent Wednesday in town trying to get a perscription filled! Oh the hoops we have to jump through and it still costs us 226.00!! Ouch!

Sabrina, that sounds like a fun game producing lots of laughs!

Susan, I do think the color challenge is beautiful this week. I think I will head over there and take a look at the gallery. I am sure I am going to come up with some favorites of the week!

Cathy's WTUI challenge is white embossing any way you like...though I think she's does intend heat embossing.

Blue wins every time for me!! My grandmother used to say, “I don’t care what color it is as long as it is blue!” I’m not into blue like she was, but I will choose it over pink every time.

Definitely blue. But actually orange. I have a problem where if I have to choose a color and orange isn't an option I just don't know what to pick.

Aww that is a sweet memory Misti!

Jennifer you make orange look extra pretty!

Ok the question is inspired by this week's Ways to Use It.

Heat Embossing, yes or no? Favorite way to use Heat Embossing? Favorite color combo?

My answer is Yes and No! I think it feels like magic when I am heating it. That's a yes. I get annoyed quite often with the following: Even with an anti static buddy, specks manage to mess up a design. OR I stamp and somehow a full impression isn't made so that when I go to heat up the powder there are missing spots in the design. Waste of paper and powder.
I love using it with watercolor but I don't do it very often and I don't think mine ever turn out as nicely as many examples I have seen on social media.

I will say I have had best results with WOW! EP.

I was very happy with how today's background turned out.

OK your turn!

I love heat embossing - it's what got me hooked on stamping and card making! Favourite colour combination - blue and white like the card I made for the challenge - so perfect for winter/Christmas cards. But also love white heat embossing on kraft.

F4A517 - Uplifting Sentiment.

The MIX364 is along the same lines. Check out the challenge to use a text analyzer!

Inspiration Challenge - Totes!

My question for today is inspired by the IC and tote bags.
Do you tote your art supplies with you on vacation, stamping events, or other events? If so what do you use to "tote" your supplies?

Happy weekend everyone!

yes, and I have some "small" zipper pouch type totes, and they some contain say stamped images and some pens or markers or pencils a sharpener. ( not a lot of tools) mostly simple coloring things. ( because, I keep a set of Polychromos pencils at home and at work that cut down the weight of things being hauled back and forth)

we recently flew cross country for Christmas and all I took was a tiny clipboard, one zipper pouch with some previously stamped tiny Hero Arts images ( that would look OK being colored with pens) and a stardust gellyroll pen and a black sharpie kind of a thing in a carry on. and I did dig it out towards the end of the second longest flight and when you go east, you run out of daylight faster so, there was not really enough light on the plane for my eyes to color well after lunch and the turbulence bounced us around which makes for zooming out of the lines really easy on a plane, so.

you know I would probably do it again but, I have better control with pencils so, it may be one of those things where you pick one or two images and the pencils you want to use on it ahead of time so that you do not need every shade in the bag. *gasp* did I really say that? hahaha. yep, I heart my pencils the most.

PS I no longer attempt to haul everything to say a class or a weekend of convention type classes because, I usually do not make a single thing and just sit around listening to people talk ( it saves some wear and tear to not haul everything and I do have a rolling bag made for scrapbookers that will hold a ton of things)

Love heat embossing with clear or gold/metallics. Black and white, not so much. And I like techniques using them, like cracked glass, faux sea glass, faux metal.

No to toting stuff around. The most I take on holidays is a pack of pencils and a couple of stamped images. I'm not good at using precoloured images, as I'm sure I've mentioned before.

Any significance in your new avatar, Angie?

Loved the Mixability and Free for All challenges - perfect ones to combine in the same card. And I threw in Thursday's Ways to Use It too - three challenges in one card!

Once a month I use a canvas tote bag to carry the craft supplies I need for my crafty get-together with two friends. And when I fly back east to visit family, I take a small zippered pouch with stamped images, a little set of watercolour paints, and a couple of paint brushes - then when I have down time, I can work on them.

Yes, thanks for asking about the avatar, Sabrina.

SCS is a magical place to me. There is so much here. When I first found SCS I had only been stamping a few months. Everything was new to me. I didn't even know what a blog was or a blog hop!

I learned just about everything I know about stamping from a little group in the Home & Garden Stampin Flybabies thread. The women there are so kind and helpful. I have met two of the ladies in person! A group member recenlty lost her young sister suddenly. My heart breaks for her. All of the ladies in the group have changed their avatar to the candle.

I am not sure if our friend will see the candles shining as she has so much to deal with right now but every time I see the candle I think of her and whisper a prayer.

The TLC778 is paint swiping. This is a very cool technique! I loved it and want to try it again. I made THIS really cool Fall card in 2017 when the technique came out.

Hi Linda,
I know this site runs on its volunteers and I do not know what is needed off the top of my head I just wanted to say Hey

one thing I always see threads about in general stamping from time to time is the lack of comments in the gallery for things that were not made for one of the challenges so, I am guess that anyone who wants to be doing something nice and has some free time here and there, leaving love in the gallery is always a good thing to do ( a feel good thing for both people)

Hello, Linda. I am so glad to see you check in with us. I have often thought about you since your Mom died and wondered if you were still able to make cards. I'm so sorry you haven't been able to do that. I know you made them for a good cause.

That was a great idea from Stacy (JBgreendawn). Maybe someone can come up with some ideas for you.

Take care.

Hi Linda,  I am still fairly new to using this site so I don't have any suggestions for you.  But I did wish to offer my condolences on the loss of your mother who was also your great friend and crafting partner.  I hope you are able to continue with your crafting as I know it can be very healing for our souls.  If I do think of anything, I will add it.  In the meantime, I think just checking in here with all these really warm and open-hearted stampers is a way to at least stay connected.   Blessing.

It looks like things are a little odd at SCS since the latest update

SC785 looks like it was able to post despite a few issues.

WT776 Getting Waxy went live and looks like fun.

The F4A518 challenge is plaid.   I know the challenge is not readable but Shirley wrote in the comments that it is all about plaid! The gallery IS OPEN so take out your plaid and play along!

I will have limited internet access for the next week so anyone who wishes to add a link to a challenge or pose some questions, feel free!

Lastly, Linda I too want to add my hugs!  So sorry for your loss.  I love what Stacy wrote.  One of my favorite ways to interact at SCS is by commenting on cards in the gallery.  It's amazing how much we can get to know one another by reading card descriptions and commenting on the amazing cards posted at SCS daily!

Thanks for everyone comments. Maybe I going at this wrong yes, it nice comment in people galleries. But, I don't find much fulfillment in that! I am much more enter activation person! Plus when I look at the galleries.  It makes stamp that much more. And I can't do that own my own. And my dad will NEVER get hung stamping! So, that is total out  <img src=" title="laugho" class="inlineimg" style="cursor: pointer;" border="0">

I posted the MIX365 challenge…it’s to make a collage. I’m not going to try and link it cuz I wasn’t able to do that earlier in the day. My write up looks ok..I did it yesterday on my Notes app and then copied and pasted to the thread and that worked. I wasn’t able to add any attachments.

Are you still interested in kits, like what people used to send to you?  The photo I saw looked like all you had to do was place everything together.  Does that make you want to stamp?  I am wondering if there are "scrapbook kits" available on the market that is basically arranging the pieces together.  Sorry your dad is not into stamping.  Are caregivers still coming and helping you?  Have any of them been much help in the crafting world for you?  Just curious how you are really doing.

I agree that commenting and leaving helps for people is a great idea.  I often check challenges and see card with no comments and try to leave one.  I am not great at looking in the gallery at all of the new cards, but that would be a place to start seeking cards with no comments.  You do have experience that many of us do not have.  Glad you are back posting.
