Default Cards with no layers

I have been unsuccessful searching for ideas for a card challenge using no layers. Is there a gallery here that I could view to get inspired? The challenge is to use no layers and only one other embellishment. Thank you for any help. Geri

Go to the gallery and search "one layer". You should get pages and pages of cards.

I love to make 1 layer cards!!!
The way I do it is adhere patterned paper to the front of my card base and stamp my sentiment and emboss with black to really make it stand out and then add ribbon or a strategically placed jewel! Easy and quick! You can also use more than one patterned paper, but it is still one layer.
I will try to see if I can find some examples fro you. I have to work today, so it might be tomorow. Good luck!!!

You can also search OLC in the gallery.

Here is a no layer card that I did a while back. I know that darttella had some great ones in her gallery as well.....her cards were the inspiration for mine.

Default Clean and Simple Style

You might want to try a gallery search with "clean and simple" or "CAS". This is a style that quite a few are using now and usually involves either no layers or just one layer. There are some really beautiful cards in this category.

Hope this helps!

I searched the other day for CAS, and lots of the cards in there were not so CAS! I'm going to try the OLC.

I found that if you search the gallery using the words 'Clean and Simple' rather than just searching for 'CAS' you will find some good ones. Here is the link for that search:

And off topic here, (sorry)...I just started a 'Clean & Simple' or 'CAS' card swap if anyone would be interested in joining. The link to my card swap is in my signature line.

I just made a card last week with no layers. This is the first time that I've ever made a card without any layers. Here's my card if anyone would like to see it:

okay- for the record~ CAS, or (clean and simple) is not the same as OLC.
A one layer card is just that~ one layer.

A CAS card can use layers, it's the design that is "simple" or less than the heavy use of embellishments or layers.

I just looked through my gallery and my favorite one-layer cards are both Christmas cards, but maybe they will still help inspire you:

Snowflakes

Christmas Candles
