Default Card for a wedding....

I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and wanted to stamp a card instead of buying one. Problem is I don't have any wedding themed stamps. I have some hearts, lots of flowers....but just can't come up with any "wedding-ish" inspiration.

Would love any ideas you could think of or samples you wouldn't mind posting. I am at work and want to make something tonight.

I do have All Year Cheer so I guess I could use the Congratulations sentiment.

Any thoughts? Please?

Thanks!

If you have a floral BG, you could emboss that in gold or silver on white/vanilla cardstock...that always looks elegant. Good luck! Hope you can come up with something!

LOL! Well I wasn't sure I was going to the wedding until a couple days ago and just haven't had time, but I will have time tonight. It's not like its a family member or anything, it's my coworker's son.

Is there something wrong with leaving things till the last minute? LOL I do it all the time, unfortunately!!!

Love your card! Might steal the idea, I can stamp two hearts and cut them out and then tie them together like that. THANKS for sharing!!! And for the tip of searching the gallery....I never remember that I can search by a word like that, I usually also look up things by sets.

Thanks again!

Some were just uploaded today that are really striking. Here's one version:

If you like understated, I love the effect of embossing with white EP on white CS! Perfect for a wedding card imho. Good luck finding a card!

I had a little sign in my office that said, "If it weren't for the last minute, some of us would never get anything done!"
I think it was given to me by one of my kids who knew my predilection for procrastination.

I've been thinking about how to do a couple of wedding cards without getting wedding stamps per se. My demo did a wonderful card using a simple, solid floral stamp (something vine-y like Best Blossoms) in gold ink as a background - then she used the "Dazzling Diamond Dust" technique (see Resources - it uses VersaMark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder) and gold ribbon. Stunning. "Best Wishes" or "Blessings" would be all you need.

I also like the suggestion Mahloumel made of using white embossing on white - something lacy or floral with white organdy ribbon would be beautiful. Gotta try that, too.

Here is an idea that I have done and people just love. Cut a 5 inch square. Cute four 5 inch diameter circles. Stamp roses or hearts or any design that you think is lovely uncolored in gold on both sides of the circles. Fold the circles in half. Attach the circles to the square at the folder edge of the circle. To close the card, fold the circle halves like a box time and close with ribbon. You can stamp any sentiment you want inside. I hope that made sense. If you don't get it, let me know and I'll have to mock up a mini blank sample and upload the pic here.

Default picture of idea

Okay, a picture is worth a 1,000 words. It is really rough but at least you can get the idea. Half of the circles are attached to the back of the middle square. The other half of the circle that i have shown laid out are folded like a box over the top of the middle square. Clear as mud?

You can actually make the card any size you wish. The size of the square is the same as the diameter of the circles.

I tied my wedding card with tulle.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and tips. I liked them all, just had to do what popped into my head I guess.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks so much!

Wow that's a gorgeous card!!! I have Easy Elegance too.....but don't have the "forever"word or the floral background. And yes, I had already made a card by the time I saw this post, but am adding that card to my faves for future inspiration, it's awesome!!! Thanks for posting it!

This card doesn't have a floral background, she just used a brown ink to stamp a shadow of the flower from the same set.

Your card looks really nice btw! (I commented on it!):-D
