I was inspired by Sarah's (seewah) fun card size. What do you use? I was stuck in the 4.25X5.5 rut until her post. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I have done 3X3, 4.25X5.5, 3.5X6.25, and 6X6. Any other good ones out there? I know that I could just experiment away myself (as I am sure I will), but I would love to hear about some of the dimensions and shapes that you like creating your cards.
Please post directions if needed. Thanks!!!
I usually do either 4.5 X 5.25 or 5 X 7. Bigger size usually for someone very special. I have done some 3 X 3's, but now that I'm a demo, I usually stick to the A2 size.
I usually do the regular sizes 5.5x4.25, but for special cards for special people I like to make them 6x6 or 8x3.5. I've also made many 5x5 - I get special envelopes and they take regular stamps (in Canada). The 8x3.5 fits into a regular business envelope.
I like to do 8.5 x 3.75 - you just cut a regular sheet of cardstock at 7.5 - leaving a strip of 3.5 x 8.5 and the card which you fold at 3.75. It fits perfectly in a No. 10 envelope - downside is you only get one card per sheet, but if you are using white or vanilla, the extra strip is perfect for stamping on, then matting on the card. I call it a "tall card".
I just recently bought a whole case of envies 3 7/8 by 7 1/2 inches. Have only posted one of the cards so far.Art Deco Lady
I'm working on this year's Christmas cards to fit this size.
I guess I am one of those rut people that does the standard size most of the time. I go bigger sometimes if I'm not mailing it. Her post had me doing a different measurement from the norm yesterday though.
I'm one of those that seems to be stuck in the standard A2 card size.
However, I got to thinking :0 that there are standard size envelopes and we should be able to find out what sizes those are. So I went surfing and found this website. It lists the measurements of standard size envelopes AND the enclosures. Maybe it will give us some ideas of sizes that we can even find envelopes for!
I love square cards and they seem to be my favourite at the moment. I either make 6 x 6 inch myself (from A4 cardstock) or use 5 x 5 inch from a pack of cards/envelopes. Also like 5 x 7 inch.
Most of my cards are standard size, so they will fit in my display folder. I do make other sizes for fun; I have a bunch of envelope templates, so I make the enve first with DS paper and then size the card to match. I love 5x7 cards!
