I won't be that much help. I bought Canvas last spring and I really like it. The reason I don't have cheesecloth is that to me it seem too much like Canvas. But of the two I prefer Canvas. HTH.

I give another vote for Canvas, I don't really like cheesecloth, although I think it was Jacksonbelle who made a card with Angler that used Cheesecloth and it was fab.
I think if you can't decide, look through the gallery and put cheesecloth or canvas into the search and see what comes out. I do think you only need one of the two though.
I have canvas and use it all the time.
Canvas, baby! I don't have cheesecloth, but it's just not my particular style. I LOVE my canvas background and use it a ton! Good luck with whatever you decide!!

Canvas here too, for cards....I don't like the gaps on the edges of the cheesecloth..but I do have a friend that loves it, she uses it for scrapbooking a LOT..
I bought Cheesecloth, and I like it.... why? Cause when I do smaller things, I can use parts of Cheesecloth and it looks like a "canvas". For larger areas, I like that it isn't symetrical or "plain-jane" in the back - it has more texture. Just my .02 of course
I vote for Canvas! I think it is an essential stamp to have. I didn't like it when I first saw it listed in the mini catalog, but now I don't know how I ever stamped without it.
I LOVE my Canvas stamp.... but here's a thought I have been playing around with. Buy some REAL cheese cloth and pounce the ink on your work to create a neat b/g.... I did that with some dollar store gause pads (they looked to have a 'cheese cloth' covering) on my waterfall card b/g (pg 2 in my gallery). I am out of them.... I've looked for the same, but can't find them.... I'm going for some cheese cloth next!
Well, I'm all about Canvas. So like others, I'd have to say that if you are only getting one, get Canvas. OTOH, if you stamp Cheesecloth in Vanilla craft over Canvas in a darker color, you get a really cool effect...
I'll get Canvas this time around, save Cheesecloth for a future order. I do like the imperfectness of Cheesecloth, but Canvas seems too darn indispensable...I love the idea of pouncing with real cheesecloth, and I've got some around my *neat* craft area somewhere so I'll have to try that
Location: In my Happy Place with no one bothering me....I hope!

I have both,,,,, I love both!! I do have to say that if threatened with a grizzly death..... I guess I could live without cheesecloth..... but don't even think about taking my canvas!!! HTH!!
I have never used the cheesecloth stamp, but I **love** my Canvas background and I use it ALL the time! It is very versatile. I agree with the others and think that the cheesecloth one looks like gauze and it is really not my style.

I say canvas. Although I have seen some beautiful cards/pages done with cheesecloth, to me it just looks too halloweeney...kind of creepy (if that makes sense). ;)
