Can you stamp over Distress Glaze.

I did the technique of sponging oxide inks onto glossy card stock then �polished it� with Distress glaze. The finished product looks bare and I would like to stamp a word or two on it. What ink should I use?

Stazon should work. I might try Brilliance as well - it stamps and dries on non-porous surfaces so it should do OK on the glaze. If you’re worried about ruining your inked surface, you could try it out by swiping a bit of glaze onto a scrap of the glossy cardstock to make a tester piece and stamp that to test your results first.

I had to know, so I made a quick background and put all my inks to the test over the glaze. Here's what I found...



Stazon and Versamark/embossing were the winners! I was a little hesitant to heat over the glaze, but it didn't seem to affect it on this surface - I have a technique I'll share soon where it does bubble up.

I did think Versafine might do well, since it can stamp over paint, but it didn't want to stick, and of course anything water-based was a no. Brilliance actually looks the worst on here, which surprised me too.

I was wondering if Ranger Archival ink would also work. I know you can stamp it on glossy surfaces and heat set it, and it will then not smear. (At least, in my experience it hasn't smeared.) I may have to try that and see!
