Default Can anyone please help?

I just posted a question regarding the color combo lists for SU inks and in less than 2 hours its OFF the home page. And no one got a chance to respond! I really thought I might be able to get some help here since I am pretty sure this is a general knowledge type of question as opposed to a "Demo" only resource. The only color combo list I have seen uses 4 to 5 colors on each combo. I would like to be able to use 2 or 3 color combos. I would like to know if anyone can share their color combo list as this is the most difficult thing for me when I am in a card making mood - figuring out which colors to use together.

Thanks so much!

MrsDiffey,

I am a relatively new demonstrator, so I am not sure I would be the best source for you. I know the Color Coach or a color wheel is a great place to start...you'd be surprised at what colors actually look fantastic together!

I think you are pretty safe to say that all of the colors in Bold Brights go with each other, the same for Earth Elements, Rich Regals, and Soft Subtles. Past that, you get into contrasting colors, and that is when the Color Coach really helps me.

Remember, even if a list has 4-5 colors, you can use just 2 or 3! I know you will do a fantastic job! I can't wait to see your cards!

(another option takes a bit more time, but you could check out what colors are used together on cards in the catalog)

Hope this helps...I'll keep posting back and forth with you till someone gets a better answer for you, OK?

Someone posted this website about color combos. In her intro, she states that you can use 2 or 3 from the combos. I liked this site a lot.

Hope this helps some.

Hi MrsDiffey!

I basically use the Color Coach, too.

But don't worry too much about not getting responses right now. It's late for lots or people and they will check the General Discussion board in the morning. I'm sure you'll get some more responses tomorrow!

I haven't even heard of a color combo list, I'm kinda new too.

What kind of cards are you making? That could help with color combo recommendations! Maybe even I could help! haha!!

laffenstamper & Christine P:

Thanks so much for the replies and suggestions. I have actually visited the site you mentioned Christine P, and when I saw all the colors on the palette, I guess I didn't bother to read the whole page, I was overwhelmed and didn't want to use ALL those colors. I will have to visit it again and get inspired. As far as all the colors working with each other within a color family - DUH!!! I NEVER thought of this. I have been stamping 6 years and it just never occured to me. Thanks so much, I am sure this will help.

WaterPixie, Iguess I was a little upset because I couldn't even find my post on the discussion board. But I probably looked for it in the wrong place -der! Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot to me. I basically have used colors from looking at cards here or other sites that I think look good together. but I hate having to case, or copy all the time, as far as colors go. I will hopefully get inspired soon and post whatever I come up with.

Are you a demo? We have a 3 and 5 color combo chart listed in the demo section of the site......I'm almost sure. If you send your email address or pm me, I'd be happy to send it to you!

You know, the "funnest" color combination I have seen is one I would never have dreamed of! It is Real Red and Gable green. Once I saw that combination, I knew there wasn't much I could do in the way of "wrong" combinations!

It is hard for me to remember it is "late"! I am a nightshift person and just naturally stay up late on my nights off! Lots of great ideas in the wee hours, though!

Best wishes for a colorful day!

I printed all the pages on the ephesian site so that I could have ready access to it whenever I got stumped for colors. I use it mostly to find good combinations when I've built up a lot of odd sized scraps from other projects.

Your original post is still where you left it: Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Just FYI - It did not get moved . . . too many responded to too many other topics, and it got bumped from the recent posts listed on the home page.

http://www.ephesian25stamps.homestea...ettesmain.html This si the website... all of her colors are Perfect Palletes except one. Which means you can choose 2 or more from each group and they will go well together...also though I have attached the groups as a word doc so that you can just print it out. I am currently maaking tags 1.5x3 so that I have them on hand and can actually SEE the COMBOS without having to drag out the paper holders everytime! So feel free to print out the attached doc and keep it close at hand for easy access!!!
Kimm did ask that when we distribute that we give her credit...so that is why I put her web addy on the bottom of the doc...

The one Palette that is not perfect she notes right there in the grouping so that you are aware of it!
