Default Which brand ink pads?

If you could only buy 1 brand of ink pads which one would it be?

There are too dang many to choose from and I need to get some color pads to stamp with. If I missed a brand in the poll then add it in your reply please.

Thanks!!

I have to say two brands . Ranger Distress and/or Memento

Ranger Distress because I can also water color with it . Memento because it works well with Copics and has lovely colors .

Gina K's inks are awesome! I get a good, clean image every time. I'm just hoping she'll add some new colors soon because I want more of them!

Thumbs up

I've used just a few different inks pads. But I really LOVE Stampin up! ink pads. Not just because they match. But because of the richness in colors.

I do use Memento inks But mostly in Black or Greys.

Apart from Versafine for outlines and sentiments, my #1 brand is the Tim Holtz distress inks, followed by Colorbox - mostly pigment, but I have some chalk inks too.

I have several ink pads too. The one I chose only for color was Stampin Up. That is the reason I chose them because I liked the colors. I also like the lid the way it flipped open. I know a lot of people don't.

When I was looking for color ink pads my three choices were Stampin Up, Adirondack's & Versafine. Adirondack's are no longer made. I knocked them off the list and Versafine because SU had more colors.

I am buying all the Distress Ink's now. I am not buying those for stamping. I am buying those to alter items & do background techniques.

I own all the must have black inks. A few Brilliance. Love to have more of the Brilliance. I have a lot of Studio G's pigment inks.

Too many different uses to just have one brand! Versafine for good crisp outline stamping, along with Archival. Memento for using with Alcohol based markers. Adirondacks for colour range. I know they've been discontinued, but I've managed to get re-inkers for them all, so they'll last me forever. Distress for fab colours too. Brilliance for gorgeous pearlescent colours. Encore for gold/silver and metallics. Yes, I own a lot of inkpads, lol.

I used to swear by my Memento stamp pads. I loved how they stamped and all of their great color choices. I have since, however, sold all of those and strictly use the Fusion Inls from Fun Stampers Journey.

I don't think I've ever met an ink pad I didn't like so even though I have more SU pads than anything else, mainly because I'm a demo, I have at least 15 other types of pads. Picking one company would be so hard because there are too many different types (dye/water based, solvent, chalk, pigment, hybrid, etc.) and the wide variety of color choices.

I find that it's more about the type of application (do I want to heat emboss, stamp on glossy paper, use Copics, etc.) and the quality of the stamp that makes the difference and not the pad. I prefer foam surface pads versus cloth, but both stamp equally as well. So the bottom line is I could never pick just one company.

I use different inks for different reasons:
Stampin' U for color (full size) - I like the color variety and selection, my first choice for stamping color images.
Versafine, black for outlines, sentiments - I like how crisp and sharp it looks
Distress ink (cubes) - for techniques like watercolor, stencils, shading paper edges
Close To My Heart, pigment, (cubes) - for variety, if I want a different look (I think it looks softer/more opaque than dye ink) or maybe embossing.

I miss the SU spots. I have a the old set in 2 large clear Ferrero Rocher boxes. I can see all the colours at once. I really wish I could get the new colours this way.

Stampin Up. I stick with SU for 90% of my stamping. My large wooden ink holder is full, and I really don't need to branch out. My inks match my papers, I don't have room for other inks, I want to spend my $$$ on other things...stampy as well as non-stampy!

I love the richness of memento luxe. If I had to had one - that would be the one. About 90% done with the whole distress ink collection. I don't have any stampin up but I don't like the way the lid opens

I would pick Ranger Distress Ink and Archival Ink for black only.

Different purposes ==> different inks. There is no one best answer for me because different inks have different properties.

If I could only have one ink pad it would be Archival Ink - Sepia.

If you can find the empty spots for sale somewhere (I know I've read about them) you could make your own with your re-inkers.
