Default Bookmark with Magnet Question

I was toodling about online the other day and I saw someone had made a bookmark out of two pieces of paper, a ribbon and a magnet. So the magnet held the bookmarks two sides to the page. Not sure I'm explaining it right.

I've lost the site. Anybody seen anything like this?

Thanks!

You can also make this as one paper piece by scoring in the center so the bookmark just folds in half. You can still punch a hole and add ribbon if desired.

I tried this once, but had trouble with the magnet strips wanting to repel each other, not come together. Is there a special kind to use or something?

You probably had one of the magnets facing in the wrong direction. Magnets have a North and South side, and two of the same kind will repel. When it comes to magnets, opposites attract!

But this gives directions on a little bit different take. I think you could certainly use magnet strip in stead of the BG snaps, but I'll be looking out for the BG snaps!!!

Not sure what site you saw the bookmarks at but ... these are so much fun to make and are great little gifts!

Here's a couple of magnetic bookmarks that I made after seeing the ones made by TexasGrammy

Magnet Bookmark with a link to TexasGrammy's bookmark and her blog with instructions

The Basic Grey Magnetic Snaps work very well for these little bookmarks.

Several of the online stores sell them as do a lot of the LSS.
