Default Bic or Sharpies

I am trying to learn to color and think outside my box (using colored pencils and Marvy Markers and love them) so if I were to pick, does it matter if it is Bic or Sharpies?

I want to hit the back to school sales if I decide to purchase.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

I have both in sets of multiple colors. I would have to say I like the Bics better overall. The tips are a little firmer, it seems to me, and easier to color small areas with. Also, both kinds have very vibrant, bright colors, but overall I like the tones in the Bics the most. I found that was a problem coloring with them, that they didn't have any colors that were really pastel, or light.

I found that I could buy a few Copic markers (with coupons at Hobby Lobby, one at a time, lol) in the pale, pastel colors that the Bics and Sharpies are lacking. They work well together.

Here is an example in my gallery using both Bics and Copics:

I prefer the Ultra Fine Point Sharpies because of their finer tip. I gave the Bics to my daughter to use for classroom stuff. The colors are more vibrant so use them with Copics pastel colors. A compliant I have with the Sharpies is that they have names for the colors on the container they come but not on the pen itself. Another thing is that I haven't been able to find the colors, other than red or black, sol individually.

When laying down the color, it goes down smoothly and evenly. Just wish I knew what color I was using so the next time I would know which pen to use. Too lazy to label the pens myself. By the way, they are assembled in the USA!

I have Sharpies and Bics too. I like the Sharpies more since there are different tips & color selection. I like the Bic's for their vibrancy. If you find a good sale I would get a set of each. That's what I did.

I like them both. They both are available in two tips--extra fine and regular--and they work well together. If I had to choose just one, thought, I'd probably pick the Bics because they are labeled with the colors. Weird, eh?
