Default Best greeting set

I'm in search of an all around greeting set. I know that SU has a bunch of great options, but I notice that each set is missing at least one greeting that I want/need. For example I want a set that has a Happy Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You, With Sympathy, and Get Well. That pretty much takes care of the major card occasions in life. But I can only find sets that meet all the criteria, except With Symapathy. Or maybe it's missing With Sympathy and Get Well. See what I mean? Have you ever found an SU set that meets all these occasions? I guess if one doesn't exist then I'll have to get a couple of sets. Which combo of sets would you recommend?

SU! seems to have cleverly packaged their greeting sets so that no one set has every saying you might want. The All Year Cheer sets have broken up all the major holidays and spread them out among the three sets. Since those have a variety of fonts as well, I'd recommend them. I'm planning to finally to get one as part of my SAB order -- AYC 2. It doesn't have all the phrases I want, but it has most of them, and includes stamps for Mother's and Father's Day, which I don't have and wished I did when making cards for my parents last year.

In March you'll be able to order Sincere Salutations. It covers everything except the sympathy. Might just be worth waiting. It has:
Holiday Greetings
Thinking of you
Thanks so much
You're Invited
Birthday wishes
Get well soon
Best wishes
Good luck

Hope that helps.

I just ordered "Wonderful Words". It's only four stamps - Love, Thanks, Celebrate, and Friendship - out of which at least one should fit into any purpose card. The only thing is it's really a sophisticated style, so it might not be versatile enough to be you only set.

I feel that the greeting can really make the card. So I have several sets.Alright more than several, lots and lots. And I also like having a sentiment to stamp inside. Elegant greetings really dresses up a card. I also like Cheery Chat. So dive in. Buy one set at a time if you have to, but start collecting them. They are well worth it.

all year cheer 1 has great basic greetings. It may have a few holidays but it has something to cover just about everything with sayings like

thinking of you (friendship, illness, sympathy, etc.)
congratulations (graduation, baby, wedding, etc)
warmest wishes
it's your day (wedding, birthday, etc.)
merry & bright

I love the different fonts (as someone esle pointed out). I use mine of so many of my cards!!!

I agree! Save up and buy several sets. It's nice to have the scripture ones for sympathy or get well or even thinking of you. I like to have the variety to fit the person, too. Does that make sense?

Maybe I'm the only one, but I use "thinking of you" with sympathy. I stamp that greeting on the outside with an image and then write a sympathy message by hand inside. make sense?

I love the AYC sets!

Just to add another perspective here... I always leave the inside of cards blank. I feel like the little sayings take away from the "personal touch" that a handmade card has. They give it more of a mass-produced feel, but that's just my personal opinion. I'll be the first one in line at Hallmark to find the perfect sentiment inside of a card (especially funny ones!), but for my homemade stuff I like to keep it as individual as possible.

Hi. Just a thought, but, you could always purchase an alphabet set. Then you could stamp anything you want to. I just purchased the collage set and I absolutely love it. I also have another set, so I can mix and match. Just punch out alot of circles or squares or whatevers from your scrap paper and sort your letters in a recipe box or coupon book for easy accessibility. I also wish that SU would come up with a better sympathy set.

Another option is SU's CD of fonts or your own program. You can type any message then print on cardstock and mat.

I think the new "Sincere Salutations" mentioned higher in this post is one of the best all-purpose greeting sets I've found. It will be available in March as a part of a special offer. It has all the basics except a sympathy statement, but I've always thought that the "Thinking of You" worked well on occasions such as that, as well as just about anything else. Although I believe it is one of the best for a first purchase, I agree with others, plan to purchase several for your collection as you can afford them. It's an investment you won't regret.

Here are the greeting sets I have found to be worth every penny.

All Year Cheer I, II, and III
Wonderful Words (didn't love it at first and now use it constantly)
Cheery Chat (love that it has the inside greeting too)
Birthday Greetings

But, I also think that sets like A Greeting for All Reasons, etc should not be overlooked. I used this set all of the time when I was first starting out. Now I have acquired many more sets, so it isn't my first one to grab, but it is very versitile.
