Default Background Stamps

How do you store your background stamps that are still on wood? I decided not to unmount these. Thanks,

I do the same as SuG. I have a small book case with narrow shelves. I think it was meant for CD's. They fit nicely on it.

If not Stampin Up, then I store them the same as above.

If they are Stampin Up background stamps, I store them on the shelves but I leave them in the clamshell container that they come in from Stampin Up.

Before I unmounted mine, they were lined up on a shelf - no packaging. I unmounted them because I was laying them face-up and putting the paper face-down on top of them rather than stamping them onto the paper, so it didn't make one iota of difference if that wood block was under the rubber. Space, on the other hand, matters A LOT to me, so I unmounted all of them down to bare rubber. I have them in page protectors in binders currently (5 1/2" x 8 1/2"), but they used to be stacked on top of each other in a clamshell case. If I remember correctly, 9 or 10 would fit in one case...

Do you find it easier to use the large background stamps mounted or unmounted? I have a Fiskars press, but haven't used it yet. All my backgrounds are wood-mounted or cling foam.

I have all of my background stamps unmounted on cling foam and I use this mount and just love it.

Impression Obsession Rubber Stamps Mega Mount

It is kind of pricey but worth it. Every part of the stamp comes out, unlike when they were still mounted on wood.

Funny, I've been watching for a good price on the Mega Mount for some time. Glad to hear it works so well.

I store all my SU! backgrounds (about 5) out of their clamshells and sitting like books on a shelf. Since all my SU! stamps are wood mounted, except the wheels, I keep the backgrounds mounted the same as the other SU!.

I use Impression Obsession background stamps a lot because they are so versatile with being able to orientate the design according to the orientation of the card I am making. These are all cling mounted and they are stored on panels in a basket, upright. I find I tend to use these more then the wood mount because they are easier to manipulate. I use them either while they are still stuck to their mounting panels or to a Mega Mount. I have contemplated taking the SU! ones off their wood mounts as they get overlooked in their present mounted state.

I use backgrounds a lot.

I opted to not unmount mine either and store them in iris cart drawers, two deep. I have them all stamped in a notebook to remind me what I have. I like "going old school" occasionally, it revives the passion I had when I first started stamping. Probably all in my head but there is nothing like using a wood mounted stamp occasionally. No way I would risk ruining my PSX stamps trying to unmount them anyway.

I have my wood mounted on my desk standing up like books. I have my 3 plastic copic storage containers on top of them...so they act as a little shelf!

I have all my SU sets, background stamps included, in two of the large clear plastic over-the-door shoe organizers, one on each side of my office door. All are still in their clamshell cases and each pocket holds one large stamp set or 2-3 smaller ones/backgrounds. I can easily see through the pockets and they're using space I don't need for anything else.
