Default The back of cards..........

I know most of us put on the back of our cards our Hand stamped by...... And one of my friends puts a penguin on hers as she LUBSSSSSSSSSS penquins along with her hand stamped by...

Welllllllllllll I was in AC Moore not too long back and I found the FUNNIEST stamp that I will now put on mine...

it says:

This card was made by hand if you throw it away those same hands will make a doll in your image and stick pins in its butt.

Its a classic I swear.. cuz we all go UGH they will just throw this away after I've spent blood sweat & tears pouring my heart into this card.. ok ok not that drastic but you know what I mean...

ladies....it's ok if someone throws our cards away!!! People can't save everything. I am working so hard to declutter my house...and it's so hard. We do want people to keep our cards in their hearts and minds....and some will physically save our cards.

Be careful...we don't want receiving one of our cards to create the same feelings as receiving one of those chain emails.

I use my handmade stamp & then I add a little sticker right above it. It's a little added something & a great way to use up all those stickers I thought I had to have.:p
I also put the year I made the card underneath the stamp.

That's a funny stamp, but I'm not concerned that people throw my cards away.

That's a great idea for my sticker stash. And I love the quote you have as a sig. After two moves fairly close together, I learned to kindly "blow" things away..('cause my in-laws can certainly give me lots of junk! you know something little for EVERY holiday, lol).

I have been stamping a little Image that goes along with the theme of my card and siging it with the year. On Wedding cards I stamp the Bride and Groom from Voila to go and put the couple's name &date. I always use
archival paper etc on Wedding cards because most people save those.
Deep in my heart I hope all my cards get saved but I am sure alot get pitched. I have a stamping friend that uses paper inserts in her cards that can be removed she lets the person know that its ok to use the card again.
I think it's a great Idea!

I had a stamp made at Vista print that says-
You'd better not throw this away!
But I only use it on cards for people that will know it is a joke.

it is hard! and there are so many things I save out of obligation.....I also have never been offended if people throw away my cards, because I don't ask and they don't tell lol! Part of the selfish truth is I enjoy making cards, for me, for no other reason than that it is fun and I can. If I can use it for someone else or as a gift, well, that's a bonus, but this hobby is purely selfishness on my part. Therefore, if I give a card and it can give someone joy for 2 minutes, and then they throw it away, so be it.
Ok, off my soap box lol! Most of my cards are not the masterpieces I've seen on here anyway, maybe if they were, I'd feel differently.

I use the "hand stamped by...." stamp and then a stamp of a kitten since I LOVE cats! :-D

As far as people throwing away our hand made cards, my stamping friends and I have decided that most people do not understand all that went into making the card. Or maybe we are trying to convince ourselves of that so we do not feel too badly about it! LOL!

This beginner stamps "made by" even on her stamps. I think every card is a work of art. Good art or bad art, it's art.

Ha that is a funny stamp!! I went to a baby shower once & they were opening cards & oohing & awhing over the handmade ones & they loved mine that I had made but then she opened another present from a good friend of mine & they were like WOW Diane we didn't know you stamped too...you should make ALL your cards! And I am looking at her squirming in her seat. So after all was done they were going through all the stuff & here my friend Diane had pulled the card front off of MY baby shower card I had made for her & glued it to another card! Ha she was like OMG I didn't know what to say~HAHAHA So maybe not thrown away but recycled!! It was too funny. But she said both her & her sister do that with my cards~I was happy!!

I always sign the back of the cards, either with an image from the stamp set I've used (for example, I'll stamp a flower horizontally and use the stem to write my name on) or with the Art & Design stamp set.

Lately, I've been into using stacked punched images to create my signature on the back. I'll lay an oval on top of the Designer Label punch or something like that. Great way to use cs or paper scraps and to pretty up the back on the card.

I'm okay with people not keeping my cards forever, as I understand the need to unclutter the house. (It does make me happy, though, when people tell me they have kept all of my cards.) As long as they don't throw it in the trash in front of my face! At least, recycle the Hodgepodge pieces if you're going to throw it away!! :p (Yes, my Dad has done that in the past. I was wondering where those brads if was giving me came from... LOL!)

Ok, I want that stamp. That is so funny. But I guess I don't worry too much about if people keep my cards or not. But I will admit I have gotten to the point that some people don't get handmade Christmas cards from me because I figure they look at it for 2 sec. and toss it.
I would love to find a cute stamp for the back of my cards. I go with the standard "hand stamped." I have a friend whose maiden name is Foote, and she has a little footprint stamp she uses. My name does not lend itself to anything like that.

I have one that says,"This better not go in the trash" but I only use it on a few select cards to "special friends" that have a sense of yuk. I don't expect everyone to keep the cards I make, thats not realisitic. My 14 yr old dgd HAS saved everything I made for her tho. Hmm...go figure.

I have a couple of different stamps that I use. One says: 'Hallmark wishes they could do this good.' Another one has a UPC code on it and the words are 'Hand-made for you because you're priceless.'

I really don't care if they are saved or thrown away. You can only keep so much in your life.

I have the UPC code stamp that Clownmom uses, and I also have a stamp with a Hallmark insignia that says, "No it's not Hallmark, but thank's for looking!". In addition I have a monogrammed "L" stamp with the words, "Lynn's Creations". I often use other images with these stamps.

It doesn't bother me either if my cards get thrown away!

I do something similar. I put my message on a liner that is attached to the inside with temporary adhesive. I tell anyone that will listen that it is removable and then the card can be reused. Some people really like that (and some figured it out on their own.) I even offer to give them another envelope for it.

I normally put nothing on the back but I do have a stamp that says "When you care enough, you make it yourself!"

I do the same....temporary liner inside that has my message. I think it is great to recycle the cards. When you enjoy making cards, that is a gift to you. When you send it to someone, it is a gift to them. When they give it to someone, it continues to be a gift. It's a Win Win Win!

Can I ask you what you use for your temporary adhesive? I'm still searching for the "perfect" one for the inside liners

I usually just put some generic "handmade by" and then sign my first name and the year. I do, however, have a set given to me by my best friend who started me on papercrafting . . . one of the stamps in the set says "If it was a Hallmark, it wouldn't look this good." It cracks me up an I ONLY use it on cards that are given to people who know my sense of humor and know I'm teasing.

That would be hilarious to add that stamp to the back of a card! I have splurged on two custom stamps, one that says "Handmade by" and one that says "Created By" with my first name. I know that some keep my cards, I know I keep cards, but unless they contain a photo, I won't keep them indefinitely.
