Default Aquapainter - can I buy it in a store?

Does anyone know if Michaels or any other store carries the aquapainter? I would love to get it for a workshop on Friday, so there wouldn't be time to place an order through SU.

Michael's carries a cheap imitation that's hard to fill. I wanted to try it so I got it with the coupon before spending $17 for ours. I'm going to buy ours now that I know I like the concept. The one at Michaels really shouldn't be used to demo with.

Could you tell me the name of the aquabrush you got at Michaels? I got one there on Monday but haven't opened it yet to try it. Thanks!

PS I saw a different one at JoAnns, it was by Delta, I think.

I don't have it with me at work, but I don't remember seeing a name on it. It was blue and when you unscrewed it you had to suck the liquid in by squeezing and it really didn't want to cooperate. It was on an endcap with a bunch of different things. Came in a clear and black package. Definitely wasn't Aqua Painter.

I've heard the brand Niji thrown about. Anyone have experience with that brand? I'm anxiously awaiting mine, too!

I have three Niji I bought at Michaels, and I love them. I have no trouble filling them, they don't leak, and the liquids (water, Future, Bleach) flow nicely.
At around $7.00 retail, they are not much less than SU!'s and are not cheaply made. Of course, I paid $3.84 each for mine on sale, so that means more money for stamps and cardstock!

I saw ours last night! So much better than the one I got at our Michaels. I'll definitely be ordering the ones from us.

you can buy these pens at any art supply place. JoAnn's, Michael's, PatCatans, or local art stores. You might even try a college campus art store. They would have better the better quality ones.

I got one from Michaels. It was packaged by zig. It was $17CAD and looks like the picture in the catalog, except fot the barrell color and shape. I love it!
I have also seen a 3 pack by inkidinkidoo (SP?) it was way cheaper, at $10CDN for the 3, although they did not look as good. I have yet to try these.

Does the aqua painter do the same thing as blender pens?

I'd say that the Aquabrushes give a much better "watercolored" look to a project. It's wetter than a blender pen, but it does do basically the same thing.

In another thread on this topic, someone mentioned that the SU aquapainters were made by Pentel. If that's the case, then I think what you want to look for is something called an "Aquash" as that is what I believe Pentel's are called.
