Anyone care to share what their largest order, dollar wise, was from SU or another in-home party?
I went to a Pampered Chef party last night and the demo said a woman at a previous party bought so much stuff she wanted it divided up between credit card, check and cash, and the woman wanted to pick it up (not delivered) in 3 separate batches so her husband wouldn't find out how much she bought!
I think the most I have ever spent at one time is about $50, and that was my last stamp club order so I could get a SAB set.
I think my top was about $137...or something close to that. I never seem to be able to spend just $50 even though that's my goal. Oh well...a new year is here...I'll try harder next month!

I went to a Lia Sophia jewelry party last night. Never been to one before... Managed to spend only $40. Went to a Partylite party last Sunday and only spent $30..... both of these parties were hosted by my SU customers. I really didn't need candles, I have no shelf space left and boxes of them still to burn, and I don't usually wear jewelry. Anyone want to buy some candles and earrings?? ;-)
For 9 years I have been having an annual party for sell-a-bration. My orders are usually at least $300 and up to $400. I just buy what I want that once a year, and get all the free sets to give to my fellow stampers. (of course I keep one of each set though)
I just spent over $435 on pampered chef. I have spent that much on one order for myself many years ago. (i bought the professional cookware set for half price which was $200 at half price) My order this year was for our oldest daughter, my daughter in law to be, and 200 for myself because there were some things that I wanted anyway. I would rather give myself the hostess credit ... you know ... especially when you are spending that much. I do have 14 stones at least! AND I use them all the time!!!

when i first got into stampin up, i hosted a party, during sab time and i myself spent 450, then my party totalled about 750.. gotta love the benefits of that
lol
THe most I have spent on a party not Stampin Up was $85.00, But I can easily spend $150.00 or more when I place my mini catalog orders. Now I know what they mean when the say the demos best customer is themself.;-)
I just got to spend $200 for my Christmas present from my sweetie, I loved it, so much stuff in one box! I have never spent more then that before but have spent $100 on stamp stuff routinely, lol. Love sell-a-bration. I wouldn't spend this much if my mom wasn't a demo..lol

was a $400 Pampered Chef order for myself when DH and I were first married.... we used some wedding money to get our kitchen items. I have spent quite a bit on SU though.... and $100 here and there on make-up/beauty products. I am about to spend some big $ IF I EVER GET MY SPRING MINI!
I placed a $400 order (that includes tax and shipping) for SU a couple months after the new catty came out last summer. That was the largest order I'd ever made, I'd saved for a while and DH knew it was coming. Previously, the largest amount of money spent at one time for an in-home party was about $250 on Weekenders clothes. That was when I was working full time, (in other words before kids!) and I wore those type of clothes to work anyway. I believe I do recall a Mary Kay order that may have exceeded $100, but I can't really remember anymore.
My SU demo delivered my latest order last night, I don't know the exact amount, but I qualified for four SAB sets.

I have placed a $500 order myself before. but I also have ahd a customer spend over $300- she was making wedding invitations, and bought it all from me!!!
Most of my purchases are around $150 so I can get benefits.
Well, I split up all my new catty orders this year, but it was around $450 total in 3 orders. My largest one time order was $300 during SAB before I was a demo.
My first SU order ever was over $300 - but we were DINKS (dual income no kids). When this catty came out in July I spent $300 again, but I sold a bunch of retired stuff on Ebay to be able to do that.
On SU I had a $500 order go in at the beginning of my 1st catalog "unveiling"-but ti my credit I had saved up the money from my SU demoship so it was all happy.
I have probably spent $150 on both SU (before I was a demo) and Pampered Chef when I hostessed the parties.

I just put in a $150 and change order this month. I love my DH. I have a SU wish list that I keep in my catty, and I try to order from it each month at stamp club. A couple of weeks ago I was sitting at the kitchen table looking at my wish list and trying it narrow it down to $50 for Sell-A-Bration. I got the calculator and told him...."Do you realize that if I got everything I want out of this catalogue, my order would be $387 dollars?" He said, well...just divide that over three months and you'll have it all. Then he started looking at the hostess list and the free product/stamp set. He then said, "You'd be stupid not to spend at least $150, and make it your own party. Just do that for the next two months."
Green light...Thanks honey! He's also the one who keeps pushing me to become a demo! MMMM...maybe when we move.

I just put in a $423.00 SU order - I used money tht I get for Christmas for this exact purpose. My SU orders are usually between $150 and $250 - in Canadian dollars (so I guess it isn't quite so bad )
Thanks for this thread. I don't feel so bad , I can see I am in good company with my SU spending habit. Hey it still doesn't come close to the cost of "boy toys" if that helps put it in perspective. Enjoy!

My highest single order for SU alone was pretty close to $200 or maybe $250, when I was the hostess last year during sell-a-bration. I got 5 sell-a-bration sets and the hostess set because my total party order was over $400, so I really got a lot for that $200!! Of course, I spend at least $30- $60 every month, too! My demo calls me her DINK (Demo-In-Training?) but I have a full-time job now and don't see that happening any time soon. I have more money to spend, but less time to stamp!:(
My largest SU! order was $650...bought lots of goodies for me!!! I am putting in another $450 order this month, then I will take a little break and save up for the new catty

I hosted my first SU party in November and spent over $350 myself, plus, on the same workshop order, my husband bought the rest of my wish list at over $300 and gave it to me for Christmas. I just bought the started kit for $355 and my first demo order looks to be over $300...I'd better start making some money off this soon! LOL
The most I ever ordered at a party was around $250 at a CM party years ago when I first got into scrappin. It was my sister having the party and she was very pleased with me!!!! Wow, you ladies are big spenders, I wish I could spend $400 on SU stuff!!!
I myself have spent about $400 on stamping stuff. But I have a customer who spent almost $700 at her party! Her grand total was $1700 and some change!
Yes, they ARE rich-
and do spend at least $100 a month! I'm afraid they are going to run out of stuff to buy! Thank god for mini catalogs!
Can you really run out of stuff to buy? Ribbon, cardstock, re-inkers, new stamps, craft ink,.....the list really never seems to end.
I am not a demo, but usually have a sellabration workshop, where I spend $200. That gets me four sets, then another because my friends will order enough for me to get a free set. I always place a nice order at my friends workshops so they can get benefits, but I place the biggest order at my own, so I can get free stuff.
I'm pretty sure $200 is my top order.
I have a friend who is into Longaberger baskets. I am pretty sure that she spends a lot more on that than I do on SU. She takes trips to their factory and takes up to $500 with her.
I've placed a $500 all for myself Typically my orders are more along the $100-$150 range. I have friend who placed a $600 order at a workshop where I was the hostess [before I was a demo].
I had one workshop where I demoed goodie bags. The sister-in-law of the hostess was too busy to attend [it was being held at her house] but wanted everything I used to make the goodie bags. Her order was over $175 and she didn't blink an eye. I used the snowman wheel and we colored in with the blender pens. I used the stamp "merry and bright" from one of the all year cheer sets. She bought the stamp set, full size bold brights pads, the wheel, handle, cardstock, ribbon, brads, punches (both the 1/16 round for brads and the square for the ribbon), cardstock, and several sizes of cello bags. I almost didn't demo that project that day ..... imagine that!
I placed a $1200 order during SAB 2003, 4 months before I signed up as a SU demo. This was in addition to all of the other orders I placed between Feb and June - probably $2000=2500 worth. Man, to think of all of the money I sunk into her pockets.
Now, if I have a huge wishlist, I just sign up with the company
I did a quick demo in our office's nursing mother's room for another new mom and she ended up placing a $700 order on her own.
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE, BUT I'M TOTALLY DROOLING!!!! JUST WIPED OFF THE KEYBOARD!!!! DH WOULD HAVE A MAJOR HEART ATTACK IF I EVER DID THIS!! ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
Ok, I have to admit that I lied a little bit. It wasn't a $1200 order. It was 2 orders for $600 - that way I could get two level 3 hostess sets.
Now that I'm a demo, I'm doing the same thing again in 10 days when I get my bonus from work - I get to spend 1/4 of it on SU. But this time, instead of getting $1200 worth of product for $1200, I get $1500 worth of product and all three level 3 hostess sets for the same price!
I tend to spend a lot during Sell-A-Bration, when the retiring sets are announced, when the new catalog is released, and around Christmas. But SAB is definitely my biggest time - I usually end up with about 25 stamp sets - I keep a set for myself, give a set to my little sister, and I keep the rest as recruiting gifts, open house door prizes, etc.
I spent over $300 last February during SAB, then signed up to be a demo. Backwards, I know. And silly me thought I was spending a lot then! I'm chuckling now at how naive I was - fitting it all on one shelf, and clearing off ONE extra shelf for "growth"!
My personal SU order last July 1 when the new catalog became available was for just over $500 - wanted another Level 3 set, on top of everything else.
I previously sold Usborne Books, and I once had a grandmother buy over $400 worth at one time a couple of months before Christmas. She kept finding another thing she liked for one grandchild, which made it uneven, so she had to choose another thing for each of the others...
I usually don't reply to threads like this but I have a feeling I am in good company here.
Every year when the new catty comes out I spend $400-$600 on stamps only. That gives me a good start for the year. Then it's about $300 a month after that...until the retired list comes out......then I am back up to $600 again. Every year I think I should probably sign up to be a demo. But it sounds like too much work.
So far.... I have purchased 87 sets....out of the current catalog. Sellabration is driving me crazy. I am not sure I like the sets so I am holding off on that order for a little while till I am sure I "need" those sets.
My largest SU order ever was in 2001. for $1100.
Other than that I will spend about $500 once a year buying Pampered Chef.
I used to spend $100 a month at CM workshops but I do not scrapbook any more so that money goes to stamps now.
I was at a SU workshop a few years ago when a gal spent over $2000 she just had to have all the paper, and all the ink, and all the markers. I thought I had it bad. We all went to her house to play when the order came in.
My biggest order was when I was the SU Club Hostess in August. My personal share of the $800 party was $300. Poor Susan, my demo, keeps reminding me I would be my own best customer if I were a demo! Just not quite ready for that leap since I am the only stamper I have ran across in this area. Maybe when I move back to Arkansas near my sis. There she and her buddies are already loving stampin - so an instant sales pool......

Okay, you take the cake! I understand wanting to earn a certain set, but wow!

After setting a limit of $150 that turned into a near-$300 order one too many times, I created an Excel spreadsheet out of my wish list. It lets me place an "x" next to the items I'm thinking of including in my order, and then shows what they total and the total of my whole wish list. It's helped keep my spend down.... somewhat!
If anyone wants to give it a try, it's attached. Type an "x" in the first column next the the items you want to include in your next order, and watch it total up.
Now that I'm a new hobby demo, I think I'm going to have to start creating an Access system that ties into inventory and project supplies needed. Guess my plans for next weekend are set now! <laugh>

A couple of weeks ago I got to spend $844 in SU stuff for myself for Christmas from my husband! I went nuts...paper,ink stamp sets, pearl x and more! I love my man!
the most i've spent was a $500 order for me. But in all fairness, half of that was what i had saved in my business account.
This year, I'm trying something new..instead of ordering when i want it...i'm trying to put in an order once a quarter, that way i only have to pay shipping once. ;)
of course...the mini's don't count nor does dh know about that! ;)
PC...i think about $75, but i had enough people ordering from my show, i was content with the total.
