I've stamped with versamark on the eggs and then colored - the versamark acts as a resist, just like writing on the egg with a white crayon

I used Versamark and then dyed them after they were stamped-came out really cool! The VM resisted the dye-so it looked alittle like batik

Thanks. I thought that's what I remembered but was sure it couldn't be that easy!

Whoo Hoo! What a fun idea! I can't wait to try this with my kids this year. This is one of the reasons that Splitcoaststampers is SO FABULOUS! One big sharing community of friends. Thank you for the Easter idea.

Question...
Since the egg is a convexed shape and not flat; how do you stamp on it?

I've never used stamps, but I have used my Versamarker to write on the eggs. It works much better than crayon!

Yep, I've stamped hard-boiled eggs with the old Ancient Page pads we used to carry but I suppose the StayzOn would be the best choice now. I

Here's a funny story...at least looking back on it! I demonstrated stamping on hard boiled eggs. I prepared about 4 or 5 nice samples ahead of time using the Quilts Give Comfort set (remember that one?) but didn't bring out the samples until later. I kept a couple unstamped hard-boiled eggs in my apron to pull out for the demonstration. Can you believe it, though, I pulled up my chair too close to the dining room table (am sure it's because I didn't take my stomach into consideration) and one of them cracked a little bit! I could smell a hard-boiled egg for most of the night...luckily I had another one on reserve and the workshop went very well.

Happy stamping!
