My hubby is a much better artist than I am, and never takes me up on it when I ask him to make cards with me! However, my 6'3" manly man stresses fearfully over making me a card each holiday. If he sees a card he likes he will draw the image himself if I don't own the stamp! The last card was for Valentine's Day, and included dry embossing, punched windows, watercoloring, and a custom envelope.

He encourages me to buy all I want, but he knows I am pretty frugal! He says everyone needs a hobby and hobbies cost money.

He was the one who started scrapbooking the pictures of the kids when they were really small, but dropped it once I got started!

Although DH doesn't stamp I lovingly call him my "Pack Mule" 'caue he goes to all the local stamping/scrapbooking conventions with me and carrys all my finds. LOL He says it is a cheaper addiction that smoking or drinking and much healthier. And of course I always send creations to his employees at holidays.

My husband will go in and stamp me a card for my birthday and once in a while sit down with me to stamp. He made me a little card 2 years ago and I still have it up in my room. I think that if he realy gave it a try he would be very good at it. He is very creative when he wants to be.

Not really, It's usually blues, green, browns, and grays for guy cards. But I usually break the "rule" of no ribbon for guys. I'll use a natural/neutral color ribbon or twine on the card, but never anything too soft or bright for a guy.

I have to admit - my husband mostly doesn't say anything about my not-yet-massive supplies because I had lots of them BEFORE we got married, hahaha! But, he has never said anything about the stuff I buy, mostly because I don't spend a lot of money on clothes, nails, hair, etc. Just the basics, plus his kids are grown and we have no kids at home. (it's lots easier since he's stamping now too!!!)

BTW - The penguin in my pic is at the edge of our little town of 3500 people. Under our dear penguin it reads "coldest spot in the nation." The honor was bestowed three times this winter with -65 wind chill factor! This penguin is very, very tall (taller than the motel he sits next to!).

The great part? We're just an hour from beautiful Glacier Park!!! A wonderful escape.

Thread hijack:
I have actually been to Cut Bank! We drove through it on our way to Valier (did I spell that right?) many years ago. My sister and I had a college friend there who was putting on a concert, and we were the background singers.

Back on topic:
My husband is actually much more artistic than I am, so he is very supportive of my papercrafting. He isn't interested in stamping at all, though. I think I'm pretty happy about that. <grin>

Last summer my best friend and I hosted a workshop, and invited our boys to come they grumbled (mostly for show I think) but agreed, well it must have been a success because my boyfriend wanted the Booglie Eyes set and proclaimed he would use it for every holiday even though it is a halloween stamp. He also ws willing to make few OSW's with me for our Christmas cards, we just never got around to it. gotta love boys and stamping

My hubby stamps ocassionally. I had a 40th party for him and made all the invites. He wanted to make thank yous to match. I helped him a little but he came up with the idea. Last year he made me a birthday and Christmas card on his own. I did not even know he had made them. He did great! He made his own dad a birthday card as well. He is very supportive of my habit! He travels so much so he says stamping helps keep me out of trouble when he is gone! He is really impressed with my cuddlebug and agreed for me to buy the whole set of nestabilities. He's my sweetheart!

To AmySings:

Wow, you've seen our penguin and yes, you spelled Valier right! That's so awesome. There isn't much in Valier, just a crossroads, really, but they do have a great restaurant down by the lake - did you stop at the Litehouse and eat?

Thanks for your comment.

Yeah, we noticed that about Valier. And this was about 20 years ago! LOL We were so busy rehearsing, we didn't do much else. We did drive up to see the Continental Divide, which I thought was very cool. Beautiful part of the country.

Actually my dad doesn't stamp...but he loves to watercolor...so I stamp out the images or if I get some from a swap I share with him..I mail them to him and he colors them. I am thinking of telling him to give them back when he is done and I can make cards with them...I know he won't do that but the coloring he loves to do.

Wow it's great that there are male stampers/scrapbookers! I was just wondering if there were any here on SCS recently actually! good thing someone started the thread =P

My bf isn't one to do arts and crafts but he will go with me to craft/scrapbook stores even when I'm there for over an hour! He's very patient but I always try have my Nintendo DS handy for him to play with, haha. And from time to time, if I have my stamps out, he'll pick a random one and ask if he can stamp it and I'll give him some ink and he'll just stamp some images on scrap paper. It's really funny and cute. He's also intrigued enough with the crop-a-dile that he asked to punch holes for me once when I had a big order of cards to finish. Next time I set something I'll have him do it, hehe.

I did ask him if he'd be willing to make a card some day and he said maybe but he's not likely to enjoy it mostly because it's just not his "thing."
