Trophy Wife - I know George Michael's sang that, isn't it "The Way I Danced with you" ?? "Should have known better than to cheat a friend, and waste the chance that I'd been given, so I'm never gonna dance again, the way I danced with you..."

Thanks! I have always liked that song, but never knew who it was or the name of it.

Okay I double checked and it was Wham (George Michaels and others) from their album Make It Big.

Song title: Careless Whispers

Here's a sample of the lyrics.

Time can never mend the careless whispers, of a good friend
To the heart and mind, ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find

Should've known better

I feel so unsure
As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies, something in your eyes
Calls to mind the silver screen
And all its sad good-byes

I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know your not a fool

Default This is too frightening...

Thanks, ladies for taking me back to junior high and high school!! Class of 87!
There really isn't much I can add at this point, but all I remember from my first year at college was U2 being blasted throughout the dorms at all hours of the night! I miss those times.....

All of this nostalgia. What about candy? What was your favorite? I loved candy necklaces, wax lips, and atomic fire balls.
My friend just bought the schoolhouse rock DVD for her kids! Loved that, they played them on ABC during after school specials and cartoons!!

Candy?! How to choose?! Wax lips were always good...and those waxy coke bottles with the liquid (sugar) inside! Pixie Sticks.....when they were full sized, not these puny little things they have now! Lick 'em Aid....still see those (still think the lick 'em stick was the best part!) around. My neice loves it!! But our favorite was what are now called Licorice Babies. Only that's NOT what they were called when I was a kid!! That and the super gobstobbers (huge, weren't they?!). We had the BEST candy store...3 whole glass display cases (like you'd see in a bakery), full of PENNY candy that only cost a PENNY! Weren't those the days?!

LOL...I remember when I had such a crush on George Michael! I sat during study hall and wrote down all of the words to Carless Whisper .

Hong Kong Phooey was my most fave cartoon ever...wasn't that the 70's though?

I remember IOU shirts! Hang Ten and Guess were the popular brands at my highschool.

I had the best feathered hair in the early 80's! Then I went and got it permed and wore banana clips in it and put a TON of hairspray in it! I had a friend that used Cherry Coke in her hair to get it to stay spiked!

I wouldn't want to go back, but it's sure fun to remember!

Class of '84 here. Just went to my 20th HS Reunion; what a trip that was. I loved big hair, Journey - oh all the 80's music -- LOVE IT! I still listen to it & I find it funny that some of the songs coming out today are re-makes. I was singing the re-make of a Go-Go's song the other day & my DD (7 1/2 yo) looked at me and asked "How do you know that song?", I about bust a gut laughing so hard. Thanks for the memories ladies.

I kind of have the same type of story. A friend of mine has 2 teenagers 14 & 16. Anywho, one night I stayed with them while their parents celebrated their anniversary.

So the 14 yr. old and his friends have this band. So they were looking up the lyrics and guitar strings for different songs on the IE. Well, I guess they were having a hard time finding "play that funky music white boy? by Vanilla Ice. Long story short, I had to break it down to them that Wild Cherry, as they would say it was the OG of the "Play that Funky Music White Boy."

Like Joe Pesci said in the movie my "Cousin Vinny", "Your Honor what has happened to our yute." (youth)

I graduated in 1980 and went on to college. So, take the highschool 80's stuff and make it a "tad" grown up and there you go, college girls! I remember MTV, Michael Jackson, all the Rat Pack movies...Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles. Wow...I am feeling old! But, it is fun to remember all of this.

Default I love the 80s

I graduated in 93 but what I remember the most was the rock n roll! I was a total headbanging chick. I had the hair up a mile high, tight ripped jeans with spandex pants underneath. (just the thought of being in spandex now - *shudder*) Bon Jovi, Poison, Cinderella, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Ozzy (before he was an actor - as the "1985" song goes)
Tons of bandanas tied around my leg, boots over my pants

And of course I had all those neon clothes with the jelly shoes and plastic bracelets (really any bracelets as long as there were at least a million!!)

Childhood stuff - Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, shirt tails, Mon-chi-chi, etc etc

Class of 90 here. the choice for a new generation. LOL

Z cavaricci pants. I had like 5 pairs of those.
White keds that got bleached so many times they became yellow.
Jean jacket

I am a CA girl so we had:
JimmyZ, Hot Tuna, Billabong,Quicksilver, and Ron Jon's Surf Shop Clothes.

I loved Love and Rockets, the Cult, Siouxie and the Banshees, Soft Cell. I saw Def Lepard when the drummer played again after losing his arm.

I had Esprit shoes, Guess bookbag, Guess overalls, and a leather bomber jacket.

I love the 80's station.
