Default Another PearlEx question

I got Assortment Two of these and I got them out once and I was quite overwhelmed. I stamped Spring Garden with Versamark and took a brush and dipped it in the PE and it was such a mess! It seems like a little goes a long way, but how do you get it to stay on the brush? Do you dip your brush right into the little bottles? Then how do you keep the PE off the rest of the cardstock that isn't versamarked? I used it with black cardstock.

Thanks in advance!

Susan

Take a little pearl ex out (a really small amount) -- for workshops I like to put it in a powder pal tray to contain the mess. You only need a little on a dry brush. Brush over versamark -- then to clean excess, wipe the card with a swiffer type dry wipe. Works great and my SU customers love that tip.

I also teach dipping a blender pen into pearl ex and coloring just like with pastels. Again -- never dip into the bottle with anything wet to prevent clumping.

There are a lot of ideas out there for pearl ex. A great site to search around is www.usartquest.com -- they were an early distributor of the product and have lots of ideas there.

Default Another PearlEx question

I have assortment I & I really haven't worked with it too much. I don't dip into the bottle, I actually shake the bottle before opening & then use my blender pen, aqua brush, Q-tip, & dip the PE from what stuck to the lid. (That way you don't get a big clump at one time.) I also think it's really messy! I think the last time I used PE & got it over the rest of the card, I used a swiffer cloth & lightly brushed if off the card (of course avoiding the area I wanted the PE on.) If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to know too

Happy stamping!
Heather

Default PE

you can also mix a little bit in a travel size hairspray and add glimmer to your cards.
