Default Am I the last to know? Spellbinders shapes!

I know people love their nesties, although I don't have any. But I thought people were just talking about the different size circles/ovals/squares and such.
I was on another thread yesterday and there was a link to the spellbinders website about using the Wizard. I clicked it, because I've always wondered how that thing works, and she used a butterfly shape. I love how she cut it, embossed it, and then stenciled it!! Is this what all of you love so much about your nesties, and I'm just the last to know?

We refer to all of them as "Nesties" for brevity, but they are not all nested shapes.
The Spellbinder site does not do justice to the beauty of these dies. They show them as colored line drawings
Have you seen the Pendant collection? It is Eye Candy !!

Go to the Gallery and search for "Spellbinders Fleur de Lis pendant" .

Be careful! Getting these dies are an obsession ! LOL

Yes, Erin we love our Spellbinders for the ease of use and the three ways to use them, cut, emboss, stencil. An Becca has a wonderful site were she using nesties most, if not all the time.

Technically Nestabilities are just that - the basic nested shapes; circles, ovals, all the labels and so on.
The Pendant series of dies and also all the less generic shapes like the butterflies, trees, owls and so on are called Shapeabilities by Spellbinders. Some do nest, but not all of them. Personally I would not refer to them as Nestabilities if they're listed by Spellbinders under Shapeabilities.
Then there are the Edge-, Border- and Frameabilties.
The cut, emboss and then stencil was one of the original selling points of the Spellbinders dies. But I think that when you thought people were just talking about the basic shapes, mostly they are - it's the convenience for layering and matting that is the most used feature nowadays, as I see it.

I LOVE Nesties! They are awesome for layering. These are my most used dies.

If Spellbinders has a similar Nesties set for a specific die at a different company I am looking at - I buy the Nesties.
Example - When I was looking at SU TopNote die I like the shape. Then I found Nesties which is very very similar and bought that set and its awesome as I have several different sizes in that shape.

Becca Feeken is the reason I got into card making. I never did stamping. I was looking for something and some how accidently I stumbled onto her site. I sat there for a couple of hours with my mouth agape looking at her archives. I forgot my original search. I told my self I had to learn to do this.

Becca is so talented I'll bet she could take a can of soup, some ribbon and Nesties and turn it into a gift fit for royalty . Plus she is exceptionally generous with information on how to do what she does. She is definitely the "Nestie Queen"
Sometimes I see a new Spellbinder die and I can't see much use for it. Then Becca uses it for an amazing project and suddenly I want it LOL

I can't tell you the last card I made that didn't use Nesties and/or embossing folders. How did I ever live w/o them. If I had to give up my DH or my Nesties he would have to go! Only kidding...I think.
